I think this thread has made it too far down the list... Is it ready yet? Pics? Price? Finishes available?

Dang Nick...that was a long time ago. I can't believe there is not a decent (US Made) exhaust available for this bike yet. Its been almost a year now. The D&D just seems like a noise maker and I haven't heard much about the Jardine. The Drummer and Jardine are on my short list, though... im waiting for pics/prices of this and the TM exhaust - both seemed to be focused on power, i guess it will come down to looks, with that being said im not one to believe in style over function but im not gonna put something that doesnt look good on my brand new CR, and besides, this bike already has good power so as long as I dont lose any I will be happy |

Dtx I guess that depends on what do you mean decent. I just picked up the Hmf slip on. It looks good and sounds good, just no dyno info yet. I should be getting that done soon. They are located in Ohio. |

This is a phone photo of the pre production prototype on the bike at Kevin's shop taken yesterday. It will be sent to Gainsville HD for dyno testing. I'm ordering parts for the first production run now.

Is it a step-tube design [kinda hard to tell from the pic], or was it simply easier to fab up the different pieces than bend one tube? |

If it has the character in sound of the previous Drummers, (and why would it not?) that is going to sound spectacular. R |

The down tube is not a step tube. It's pieced just for fitment. We want the pipe to hug the motor reasonably well so it looks good. The production down tube will be a custom bent, one piece tube welded to the custom fabbed collector. The production rear bracket will be slightly different with a little tasteful bling added. |

It sounds ....... aggressive. I have a very short quicktime video taken with a camera at Kevin's shop, but it's kind of distorted. |

Steve(Jerseyguy), just wondering if you would like to say as to whether it is a straight through or a reverse perforated baffle type. Seems small for a straight through. Looks like it might be pretty loud if it is. Bet it makes H.P. Good job bud! |

I don't know if we'll have it ready by Christmas... I've got to get the water jet cut parts to Kevin and they have just been ordered. Plus there might be some minor tweaking based on the dyno runs. Cosmetically its done except for the exhaust tip look which is pretty minor. We tried to get the pipe to hug the motor and follow the lines of the cases. I hung the muffler at an angle that parallels the the silver shifter and silver heat shield. It just looked right to my eye and implys a forward motion. Please be patient. A lot of effort has already gone into every aspect of the design and I think it will be a winner |

That looks excellent. Hopefully you'll be selling them in the UK as well? I hate my Remus, the welding looks like it's been done by a 10yr old that's had an OD of Ritalin! |

Jerseyguy, How much is the ground clearance??. |

Want muffler. Hey, here's something I would like to know. Besides the dyno reports from this muffler, what about how it will effect the fueling. Want to know if it will cause the engine to lean out to much or if the system will adjust for it. |

That's a great question. Kevin has always designed his systems to run within the parameters of the stock ECM. This was clearly demonstrated in the XB muffler shootout that Al at American Sport Bike ran a while back. I expect that this design will exhibit similar results. It has more ground clearance than the stock pipe. |

Hogs - Hey old feller I hope all is good with you. Keep that damned cold air up in Canada will ya! It isn't easy to explain the sound in words but I can say it's not a mellow lopy sound like an XB with a Drummer. Its a sharper harder hit almost like a NASCAR deal. Its not quite as frantic or whiney as a ILF but this motor does spool up pretty fast so you can really tell that there's something goin' on between your legs. |

How about weight? One of my few complaints about the stocker is how large and heavy it is. Any idea about the weight savings? |

It weighed about 10 pounds on my UPS scale when I shipped it. The stocker is 20 pounds. (Message edited by jerseyguy on November 26, 2008) |
