Is there anyway to get another 15hp out of this engine? or 5 ft/lb of torque? If anyone has successfully done mods (not exhaust) please post here and tell us your honest opinion. I know how sometimes when you shell out the dough, it biases you to want to believe it did something so hopefully that would not be the case. |

I haven't done it yet but I hear the 900 primary makes it feel like it's torqueier. That Direct Link thing is supposed to do alot as well. You can get both for well under a G. |

if you have an 08, stick to the xb9 primary...otherwise, you might get in uncharted waters.... |

Due to the different ignition, DDFI2 I think it is referred to, using Direct Link by most dealers may be a learning exercise. Ask if they have tuned one yet before paying them to experiment. Also, you can tune for more peak ponies, or more torque, but without that gated exhaust, you will give up in some areas of the curve while gaining in others. I could be wrong, but I doubt it. ~jammer |

Tuning, tuning. Find someone GOOD with Buells. Where is your bike at now?(performance wise) Where do you want to be. Its a start. 1250 kits are reasonably priced, again you need a someone to tune. 2 bikes Ive tuned, both 2005 XB12R,S Both bikes still get over 45mpg The Bike making 107 hp has 35,000 miles, the 106 hp has over 20,000miles (Message edited by wheelybueller on November 23, 2008) |
