I have had a 2005 XB9R stolen while in Mexico after being dropped in the PM of the 18th. The bike was taken close to KM Marker 61 on rout 25 South of Copper Canyon. I do not know what to expect but it could appear whole or on parts, or not at all. S# 4MZAX12J053000125 I would appreciate any feed back should anyone see or hear anything. Odometer shows about 27,000. Has new crank, top end and fuel pump. jw |

Bummer Jack, I thought that maybe you were on your trip since you weren't at the meeting last week. Is there anything we can do for you? |

Dropped meaning that you dropped it/crashed it and had to leave it on the side of the highway, where it then got stolen? |

I've been trying to find out more about what happened but haven't made contact with anyone who was keeping track of the trip. At one time I would have wanted to do a trip like that and after reading the experience of a guy on ADVRiders.com it sounded like a hell of a great ride. The guy on ADV went down there knowing no Spanish, no passport (had to wait once he was in the country to have his mailed to him), didn't know the exchange rate. Lost his ATM card right after taking out 1,000 pesos, but went ahead and did the trip anyway. When he would get out his map to show people his route they kept telling him "No, no, no!" It wasn't until he found someone that could translate for him that he found out that he was planning on riding right through the worst drug war area and that he probably wouldn't have made it. I'd want to be able to communicate beter for a trip like that. |

No offense, but anyone who'd leave their scoot on a roadside in Mexico .... |

By his wording I'm guessing that he went down and broke something making the bike unrideable. Went to get a part and came back to find the bike gone. I still haven't heard anything. |
