The basic approaches seem to be clubman bars, Teddagreek's clipons with headlamp spacers, and Crossroads. The clubman bars seem to need risers, since they are not wide enough to clear the fork tops and I have seen something here about the Crossroads plate flexing. Tedda's setup http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/327 77/361089.html seems like the best way to do it with minimum length spacers and these bars http://www.indysuperbike.com/customer/product.php? productid=109702 With the split clamp, you don't need to take the top triple clamp off. I purchased a set of old clipons at a motorcycle junkyard and cut off the area around where the handle bar clamp is. I played around with this cutoff and handlebar attached to see where I liked it best, and attached to upper triple clamp with 2 small screws to take for a short test ride to see how the position felt. After final adjustment I had these welded onto the top triple clamp with the top of the cutoff clipon even with the top of the triple clamp. No spacers needed for front cowl/headlight assembly. As you can see I have the Magura hyd. clutch and I had to cut my Key so I can get it inserted into the switch. I still want to get my hands closer together and I will be getting radial master cylinders for both the brake and clutch. |

Looks good, Dean. I can't visualize how the 2 screws attached the clamps for the test ride. |
