Seeing that cover on there makes me want that breather right behind the gas cap. Where the heck can I get one of them without buying a whole cover? |

OK, I'll bite, what is the rubber X thingo on top of the airbox for? I mean, clearly it's a guard -- but from what? (Message edited by redscuell on November 16, 2008) |

I think it is so your jacket sleeve wont scratch the cover when leaning on it while ridding. Just a guess Scott |

Redscuell, I'm pretty sure the X on the air box cover is to prevent scratches from a tank bag. |

Makes sense, eweaver. I'll use it to prevent scratches (to the cover) when I'm laid out on the cover @ freeway speeds. I've a hero blue one on order as of 5 minutes ago. |

It is also a very secure platform to lay your helmet. |

With the hero blue shield and electric blue bar ends, mine looks pretty sweet. Sorry I don't know how to post pics. I've tried and can't get them to post for some reason. Also, thanks for the inquiries. I haven't fallen off the planet, just graduated from college (again) so I've been a bit busy. Had an awesome riding season in Wisc but unfortunately it's over now. Just waiting for the temp to go back up above 40 so I can take "Diablo" in to get her recalls done for next summer. |

Haven't picked an air box cover yet but I did put on the hero blue shield and with electric blue bar ends, "Diablo" looks pretty sweet so far. Have lots of work yet to go. For those of you who inquired, I haven't fallen off the planet, I graduated from college (again) so I've been a bit busy. Had an awesome riding season, unfortunately here in Wisc it's over. Waiting for temp to go above 40 so I can go over and get her recalls done. If anyone can tell me how to post pics of my bike I will try.

1125chick, likely it's the size of your pics that's giving you difficulty. There are better ways to post pics than this, but this one's simple: use the Microsoft Photo Editor that comes with windows, to open your pic from Windows Explorer; use the 'resize' option to shrink your pic until checking it again in Windows Explorer tells you it's roughly 60-70k. Then use the 'upload attachment' link at the bottom of this page when posting. |
