Heard at the Infineon AMA Super Moto Race Yvon DuHamel will be riding for Buell in 09, can't find a on-line source to back up the story, so thought we could throw it up against the wall here and see if it will stick?} (Message edited by buelldyno_guy on November 21, 2008) |

I think your talking about Miguel Duhamel and and that could be true. Honda is cutting back next year and are only going to have Neil Hodgson who is already signed for 2009 race on the factory team.Miguel Duhamel was out of a job for 2009 so he might of signed with Buell for 2009 he did race for Harley Davidson in 1994 on the VR1000. |

Yvon is older than even I AM... but it would be cool to see his KID on a Buell. Of course, Buell won't announce anything until they're ready for us to hear it but hey, it'd be cool. Pic of Yvon DuHamel on Dave Crussel's Kawi H1R prior to the 2004 Mid-Ohio AHRMA parade lap.

I thought Miguel low balled his contract price to Honda for 2008 to ride yet. Honda, Suzuki, and Kawasaki are pissing about the new AMA series again also based on the special parts they would use being available for purchase and a contingency program that ALL providers will have to have in place. |

I'm not involved in AMA as closely as I am in Club racing... but the 1200cc class would be my logical thought... unless they've got something up their sleeve with the MV Agusta ownership through HD... don't know but it sure is fun to fantasize. |

Neil Hodgson wrote a story in Cycle News a few weeks ago and said he will not have a teammate at Honda next year.Hodgson was already signed for 2009 Duhamel only was signed for 2008 and Honda are cutting their budget for 2009. With this new mess who knows if they will race at all next year. |

Buell 1125R is legal to race in the Daytona SportBike class which is for 600s and all the bikes that raced in th Moto ST SuperSport class this year with no HP limit. |

I am not a Migel Duhamel fan but the guy can ride. If Buell does have factory supported team next year he would be a good rider. It would be nice to see a little younger person with a more aggressive riding still get the job. Although from what I have heard and read Duhamel is still in great shape. |

Yes and no... I looked into the job with my prior work in national championship racing. The job specifically is also related to things above a singular attempt in racing to working also as a technical consultant to dealer racing matters. It's kind of all encompassing. Would be very exciting. I don't have the engineering/machinist background. |

The job specifically is also related to things above a singular attempt in racing to working also as a technical consultant to dealer racing matters. It's kind of all encompassing. Last week at the Riders Edge session at Infineon Raceway, I had a discussion with a former AFM, AMA rider who is now doing some work for Buell. He had just returned from the Midwest where he was doing some on track instruction to Dealer Staff about Buells how they handle and how to ride them. He is an instructor for Freddy Spencer, and now doing some work for Buell. Maybe the next step they are taking is in fact building the infrastructure to move all this from a H-D / Buell sort-of kind-of thing, to something that has all the pieces in place to be a world wide success??? I don't much care for Miguel either I hope it's not true. I also would like for Buell to stay the redheaded step that's locked away in the attic. |

The DMG made alot of changes in the AMA for the smaller manufactures like Buell can compete with the big boys in the AMA so if they do not it was all for nothing. This is Buells chance to beome a National champion instead of just a club race champion. |

Thanks for the post and update Amafan. So maybe just maybe we will see what it could have been like if the race only XBRR would have had a competitive engine. ... Terry |
