I received my elbow/brace in the mail today from gbalias over on BuelletinBoard and thought I'd post a few pics. The piece is beautiful - welds are perfect and overall it looks great. But as luck would have it, I ordered the wrong size Torca clamp - I need a 2.250" for the connection from the elbow/brace to the muffler. I have two other mufflers to try out as well, a Cherry Bomb and two Sweet-Thunder mufflers. . (Message edited by johnboy777 on December 01, 2008) |

Can't wait to see the finished product with the muffler ends on it on a Uly! That's going to be the bomb. |

FWIW, this elbow/brace was made for a custom exhaust that gbalias sells, and I don’t think this is plug ‘n play for this application. From my initial measurements, the MagnaFlow inlet length appears to be too long in its stock configuration, pushing the muffler too far rearward, towards the rear tire. The inlet length may need shortened a few inches – no big deal, really. There might be a kickstand clearance issue on the Uly as well, but that can be dealt w/ when the rear outlet tips/turndowns are installed . I.D./O.D. Specs

""you probably could get some tips made cheaper, and polish them yourself. just a thought. then again, maybe not???"" Thanks Sleez , I think I'll take your advice and run the muffler to a custom muffler shop I know today to get a bid on a pair of SS turn-outs. The outlets are 2", but I'm thinking of getting 2.25" or 2.5" turn-outs. . |

Well I switched gears here, a little bit. I was so impressed with the quality of work that gbalias did on the elbow/brace that he sent me, I decided to to have him build me one of his complete exhaust systems. I'll post all the details once I get and install it. . |

Thank you for all of your lavish praise, sure I deserve it – but please, my mission here is a rather simple one, really. To serve those of my fellow brothers in the BadWeb community, like myself, looking to improve on their Ulysssesss’s. I mean really, a big star, wow, but okay! BTW, did I mention how I taught my dog to eat cat sh*t ... oh, wait, that was another post. . |
