took the bike in for its 1000 mile service and there was a recall on the cam tensioner. has anyone else done this recall? what was the problem? if you have had i done....was there any performance gain from it? |

Mine was done at time of purchase, no gains/no loss, safety issue recall. |

Is buell sending out recall letters ? Dealer told me my cr was not effected and it was not needed . Does this sound right ? |

yea i already had an appt before i got the letter tho - i had to take mine back tho because they forgot to check a gasket or something that had to do with the same recall - both visits were under an hour, first come first serve saturday |

If it was the first batch built from April to September 11, 2009 you should be getting a recall letter...its a 40 minute job to change out the cam chain tensioner as I have seen the actuall recall and service document. You can have your dealer check or any dealer check the VIN # but if its an October model your in the clear. I am the Buell specialist in Riveside,CA; SKip Fordyce HD/Buell and I will be purchasing a new 08 black CR...made my mind up on my last ride while at work..and to think I was gonna bye another Harley Dyna model.....Jeez..you cant take the sport out of the racer and that Buell is a racer and mean.....!
