Could someone explain to me any advantage to halo lights? Driving, fog, or?

Thanks,

Don't you know that the modern hot-rod/hot-bike is made by custom lights, tunes, and dvd players ? Just think how fast your bike would go with some of those cool lights.

Hmm. I prefer my headlight modulator as the "Hey, here I am!" gadget.

I added it to my winter projects list. They don't show any pictures of the kit, makes me wonder whats involved. I have CCFL lighting in my computer, they require a small inverter to power the light similar to a HID ballast. I am assuming this uses the same thing.

from what i understand there is no inverter/ballast - its just a 12VLED strip or ring - i know some of them are 2 stage for running light and a blinker, but i think it's just a part they sell to make it two stage (resistor/flasher) - a friend of mine put the strips in his headlight for a blinker - turned out real nice

assuming the install is like a headlight install you have to put the light housing in the oven and bake it to reheat the glue and take it apart - me and rah7777777 did some trial and error baking of one last night for a project - so get with him for more details on that

Yea these are not LED, they are definitely CCFL, which would need the inverter. They list it in the kit contents, but call it a ballast

quote:

What does the kit include?
Kit includes the following:
- (2) Shock-Resistant CCFL XB12S Halo Rings
- V2 Dual Waterproof Demon Eye Ballast

You can make some using LED's and a clear rod from window blinds.

Caution: the eagleeye post from Marksm puts up one of those annoying windows that can't be removed. It only allows clicking "OK", which always the sign of virus to me. Probably not, but I bypass those on basic principle.

No reflection on Marksm. It is the site designer that chose that type of pop-up.

I've got a mac so I'm not worried about a virus. It's best to avoid any kind of strange click where you don't have to option to cancel, escape or even close the window.

I usually run two browsers with about 4 tabs on each. BWB shows better on Safari than Firefox. On Safari that pop-up prevents anything else from being clickable.

Anyway, I'd rather find out more about those lights. The links don't really show of the Buells, just the other bikes.

kill persistent/suspicicous pop-ups from the task manager (control-alt-delete, task manager, select win & end task)

I was actually talking to a guy from advanced automotive light store about three months ago about making a custom setup...never really followed through with it but i guess they got the message.

Has anyone ever had experience with taking the headlight apart and resealing...and troubles?
