Any reason a 09 CR would hesitate under hard accel when the bike hits 5k on the tach? There are under 30 miles on the bike. Maybe a safety feature to keep it from revving to high during break in? | ||

1. remove the throttle solenoid thing. dozens of threads on that in the archives. search. 2. The engine is no where near being broken in. These things come very tight. Give it a few hundred miles to loosen up. | ||

oh and remove the inner airbox cover if ur not planning on racing at high speed. itll give u a noticable amount of throttle response and power. | ||

well its second hand news coming form my dealer, i was in there getting some codes cancelled and they were threatening me with having to pay for any more shop time fixing problems created by me. he was saying when ever the ecm tells the soleniod to activate and having messed with it, it throws a code. although i stated that having a resistor in the ecm doesnt know the difference. but in that coversation he mention the light so i know when the soleniod is activated. it could be a shift light but having it light up at 5g's im pretty sure is about 5,500rpms away from redline. so its lighting up for some reason. so i probably should have verified it first before stating it on here. lol. | ||

Anyway, are you seeing the shift light when reving while sittin still or running down the road? From what I understand, the 'puter will light the shift light early in no load situations to idiot proof the engine. Also, since the ecm knows there are less than 50 miles on it, it may be trying to tell you to go read your manual regarding proper break in. (Message edited by badlionsfan on November 16, 2008) | ||

Quit revving the engine with no load and you won't get the tach needle lighting at 5.5K | ||

also, the tach needle will light up at a lower RPM if it is not fully warmed up. The resistor used in the harness for disabling the 'noid will not eliminate setting the AIS code. So the dealer has a right to charge you to reset that one if you are using the resistor, or disconnected the cable. You don't need to reset it anyway, it will just come back later. Ignore it, it won't bother anything. With the 'noid disabled, when the ecm sends the command to activate it, it looks for a reaction from the TPS to verify it actuated. If it does not receive this from the TPS, it will throw the code. | ||

i see like i said this is all second hand knowledge. I dont personally ever rev my engine with out it goin down the road. About the code i knew about the bike still would throw a code from the soleniod thing, but the code showed after i installed heated grips, so i wanted to make sure everyhting was okay. its all good now. the code was ecm error p_ _ _ _, so i couldnt find out what it was fromt he service books. nice info xb9, good to know | ||
