Last I heard, K&N had already developed a air filter for the 1125r. Is there any idea when it will be available to the public??? |

I emailed K&N. Here is the response. Dear Harlan, Thanks for contacting K&N. We do not have eta on this particular application at this time. Please feel free to fill out the product request form on our site so you can receive automatic product updates. Thanks But as with any big company, I would not rule out that something is in the works somewhere, esp. with previous reports in indicating otherwise.. |

Hi Everyone. I posted a while back that I volunteered an 08 Buell 1125R a while ago and the Rep assured me they are in the works moving forward and hoping for an early 2009 release as I am also updating her (Lisa Watson)K&N Research with part #'s etc. for all the 09 Buell models. We are in Riverside, CA not far from K&N and they borrow our bikes, Harleys and Buell whenever needed. I will keep you all posted. I am with Skip Fordyce HD/Buell as the Buell specialist and you will see me on here quite a bit and this is the best place for Buell! Great people, info and answers/questions. See below att: from Lisa Watson of K&N to me: Hi Rob, We are getting ready to start working on our 2009 Powersports catalog and I wanted to get the 2009 models into the catalog. I believe we will pull the applications around the second week in December. I completely understand busy. J Whatever help you can give will be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Lisa Watson Sr. Product Coordinator, Accessories lisaw@knfilters.com Support Our Troops and Original att response: Subject: RE: K&N Air filter use in Buell 08 1125R Date: Wed, 24 Sep 2008 13:39:18 -0700 From: lisaw@knfilters.com To: supermotomx@hotmail.com Hi Rob, We were able to look at the 1125R and get some ideas on how to move forward on making the filter. The bike should be coming back in the next couple of days. Thank you again for this information. Thank you, Lisa Watson Powersports Application Coordinator lisaw@knfilters.com |

Early 2009? It can't be that hard to duplicate the factory filter, K & N style. Thanks for your help, Rob. I know alot of us are waiting for this filter. |

K&N already have a filter in their range that fits the 1125R with only minor trimming of the rubber surround apparently. The fitment is for a Ford Explorer 4.0 V6 or 4.6 V8 model. Their part number is 33-2353 and the details are here: http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod= 33-2353 I would add that I have not tried this myself, but a customer of ours that drag races his 1125R has and is happy with the fit. |

Hi Guys, I also attached info/part #'s and pics of the Toyota 4 banger and Ford V6 filter a while back that it is a similar fitment for 1125R for K&N R&D. Just for your info. So we should or I will be hearing back soon since I should have the new 1125CR to modify for some club racing/riding. Is the Toyota and Ford filter the same? Is one preferable over the other? |

Has anyone fitted the K&N filter 33-2353 that Trojan mentioned? Mine arrived today and its nowhere near the same size. Rather see how its done before I hack up £45 worth of filter. |

Guys, someone in contact with K&N advised me that fitting an auto filter to our bikes is not a good idea due to possible sealing issues. With those huge throttle bodies any weakness in the seal will be exploited. Apparently, K&N is really anal about the seals-which is good for us! I was all hot to get one of these auto filters, but now I will wait....impatiently of course. |

Markrd500, Yes mark, I did and tested a lot on the dyno with it. It's worth the Money. Fresno, I was reading your post, and have some problems, understanding it. What actually will Exploited?. I Think I used the filter extreem on the dyno but I can't imagine how that will be happening. |

Mark- For mine to fit I had to make slits in the rubber to allow a full seal all the way down to the bottom on both sides. Otherwise it was too rigid and left a small gap. I used the 33-2207. I looked at the 33-2353 that you posted and I don't see how it will work I would return it. Its about 3.5" too long and approx .7" too wide. This is is how the 33-2207 fits,
