We need some data on the latest calibrations. Please post up your AFV values (from Diag mode) Do not post until you have at least 300 miles of riding (or 300 miles since the current calibration was flashed). Please post location/year/model/mileage /Front AFV/Rear AFV. Thanks! Cleveland, Ohio /'09 / 1125R / 660 mi. / 110.5F / 110.5R |

"BTW, my experience on this beast for learning is NOT steady state cruise - just the opposite. That may have worked in earlier years, but not on these." XB9, I've transferred your advice from the previous thread so those of us newbies can "keep it all together". |

Steeleagle, I just wish to understand your post as best as possible...as I'm still a little in wonder! After each flash, WITH AFV resets (meaning, back to 100/100), as is common procedure... Your bike has always gone right back to 105/105? |

What does the "AFV" mean. the higher the better? or the lower. Too lazy to read thru archives. Dallas TX /2008/1125R/1700 mi/100f&r stock filter, did my own exhaust mod (using stock) |

Sci, Yup, your lazy dude and nope, your exhaust mod didn't do anything to the AFV's if they are still 100/100. AFV=Adaptive Fuel Value...the Learning and correction portion of this ecu. With key off, Hold BOTH the toggle and mode keys down while turning the ignition key ON. You should see diag on the screen...toggle thru to F & R AFV's. 100= No correction to base map fueling in Open Loop. 105= + 5% fueling addition to base maps in open loop. 95= - 5% fueling deletion to base maps in open loop. All LEARNED by Close Loop Feedback. |

Your bike has always gone right back to 105/105? Yep. I've never seen it at any other values. If it was reset at the dealer during re-flashes, by the time I checked it next, they were at 105/105. FYI: I've done the 3500 rpm 3rd gear extended runs that pre-reflash #3 helped out driveability, but had no impact on the numbers. I've also tried it post-reflash #3. I know I spoke about it briefly with XB9 in Mentor, and maybe I'm just too sensitive to seeing all others having values less than that, but I can't get away from thinking it's odd. The bike runs fine. (Message edited by steeleagle on November 14, 2008) |

Xb9...you getting all this? Look at Tas...he's also down a little on power now? What's up with Spectrum? How's it running? (Message edited by slypiranna on November 15, 2008) |

Yep, getting it. There's something I see that I have speculated on since the middle of summer.... I could assume the ones that have lower fuel requirements (lower AFV's) are not putting out as much power anymore. Tas had 9K Kilometers before the corrected calibration... Spectrum had ? miles before the corrected calibration.... What's running through my mind? I'll leave it at that. 10% with a gradual degradation may not be readily noticeable seat of the pants on the street, the dyno numbers would tell. The more data we can get here the better. |

Well, my bike was running lean before removing the 02's I was thinking back and have not re-dynoed the bike w/o the O2s. She was @ 100/100 w/ O2s and 105/105 w/0 O2's. Just realized I left out the AFVs in my above post, yeah im a bonehead. Supposed to be going in for service 3rd reflash and wondering if I even want it. |

Yes, you want it...trust US. Archives show all the details but since you probably don't have the time to search.... Just get into a dealer and get the latest update and then post AFV's after a couple hundred miles. I'd wager that you'll be rewarded right after rolling out of the dealership. |

Thanks Sly I've been watching the posts and maybe needed a little prodding. She runs a little lean (damn front pipe gets hoooooot) but 3rd gear power wheelies are too much fun to risk. Thanks for the input. I will come back and post results as soon as everything is done. Granted thats if I can get the front end thunk and nasty front brake shudder fixed too! |

Mine is running great. I had about 9K miles before the 3rd recalibration. The AFV's went to 85/90 by the time I got home after the recalibration (30 miles). By the way, they have consistently been 85/90 since I have owned the bike (all 3 calibrations). It has thrown an IAC System Error once since the recalibration. Happened when I restarted the bike after a fill-up. |

I wonder if the CA calibration has lowered the AFV for emissions sake versus 49 state bikes? Mine is 93.5/90 currently...the first time I have seen a front value higher than the rear....Cold weather should increase the number? More O2, more fuel? How have the AFV of CA bikes been post reflash? Anyone? |
