Well, how many? Just looking to see if there are any out of the ordinary maintenance issues with them since I'm considering a CR for a commuter as well as a toy. So I'm really interested in what the higher mileage guys have to say.

I'm in the same boat...so to speak.

I asked the same question a coupla months back.
No one reported anything out of the ordinary.

I'm looking to get a new bike in the Jan. - March timeframe...also for commuting and the canyons here in So. Cal.
I'm stuck between the 09, 1125CR and a new R1...leaning toward the CR.

I've worn out (2) FZR1000's and close to wearing out my current 03, R1 (now with almost 91,000mi.).
Thinking about of a change in scenery !

Mike

Yeah, I'm looking to purchase January of 2009. I would purchase in December since I would be ready to do so by then but it doesn't make sense since I would have to pay for tag and then pay for tag again 4 months later.

CR has been out for about 2 months, not gonna have any high mileage reports. Not sure what the C part of your C/CR title is about.

There are a number of us 08 R owners that are daily commuters and have 10K+ miles. A few who are probably approaching 20K+.

While there have been a few isolated incidents, I know of no reoccurring mileage or wear related failure patterns.

With the street and endurance racing data we've seen so fair, it appears to be a very reliable platform.

The platform for the 08R's and 09R/CR's is basically the same so I think it's safe to assume the reliability will be similar.

Yeah, mechanically the same with the exception of gearing, so I don't see a reason not lump them together when looking for potential mechanical problems.

Your commute will never be the same and the added frontal area will help if you get stuck in badweather! : )

have 19,185 miles on my 1125R.

No major problems at all, still running strong as ever.

I love this bike!!

Just a few minor problems which were fixed under warranty. (blinkers, clutch fluid drip) The latest flash was awesome!

Ray, you ever let the engine cool off?
Loretta's about to roll past 14k.

Had a bad cam and was down a month.
BMC CS was great, Very personal.

This is a bike I will never get rid of...

I'm just north of 16,000 miles with nothing out of the ordinary, IMHO. For 7 months that's not too bad.

My 04' ST1300 has 84,000 in 4.5 years and running strong.

27k on my 08 1125r here.

I do NOT commute. My miles are almost entirely weekend sport riding.

I'd say around 18k or so the motor really breaks in and starts running extra smooth. : )

Only major issue was a broken belt at 24k.

^Nice!!!! Still a baby at 700 miles today on the clock. I did the 600 miles service to it on yesterday and installed Amsoil. Twice as slick tranny shifts and the engine feels way smoother. It gets better every time I gear up.

I've been servicing my 1125r 'by the book', but I must say I really notice the transmission being shockingly smoother the first 1,000 miles or so after an oil change. So smooth you can't believe how much smoother it is!

I've wondered if the service interval might be a titch too long at 6.2k, and that 5k would have been a better choice?

Hmmm very interesting JDugger 'cause Ive noticed the same thing.

Ive been using the regular ol' Harley Oil, perhaps the use of synthetic would "Solve" the problem?

Ray,

I'm using HD-Synthetic.

6,200 seems like a really long interval for non-synthetic to me. But, I'm not a mechanic.

^I am and I would stay with a regular 3000 mile interval even with synthetic. I changed the oil in the honda every 3k with amsoil and I am going to do the same with the CR. Cheap insurance. I highly recomend amsoil.
