What would you say the negatives are on the 1125CR? I'm heavily considering buying one but I haven't really seen anything particularly negative about it in the reviews I've read. I would like to see what actual owners don't like about it. Also, what are comparable bikes to it? | ||

Motorcyclist magazine just did a full ride review of the new 1125CR. They really liked it and found NO issues with it other then the mirrors could be more useful (but what sportbike has good mirrors anyway??) I rode an 1125CR at an Inside Pass Track Day and found it to be a great bike. I felt cool riding it. It screams attitude. | ||

I don't own one yet, and am getting close to convincing myself It perfect but would write a check today if the radiator was behind the front wheel or the pods were more integrated into the overall design. Other wise I think the CR is one bad ass looking bike. | ||

Plus, there is no such thing as the perfect bike, there has to be some issues that actual owners have with them. One blaring deficiency I'm seeing this very moment is you don't have one yet! Every time I ride mine it just gets better. This is one of the funnest and most comfortable (for a sport bike) bikes I have ridden. I absoltly recomend a test drive to everyone so you can fall in love too. | ||

As posted on another thread, in my experience you'll really miss the windscreen, and a fairing, on a naked bike at freeway speeds. For around-town commuting, though, a naked like the CR is quite nice for visibility of close objects (like the car ahead of you). But at high speed it is a nightmare of wind and rain and cold, not to mention whatever the cars ahead are spraying back, including bits of rock & gravel (ever wonder why your car windscreen is pitted? Ride behind a tradesman with sand & dirt floating out of his pickup bed, while wearing a 3/4 helmet, and find out). | ||

Candy is the first bike ive own with a front fairing and it is awsome. its a lot warmer, barely get wet when it rains. goin from a harley to this i would never go back to a naked bike. never say never i guess. they do have their purposes. | ||

Compare it to the new Ducati Streetfighter, the Triumph Speed Triple, maybe the Suzuki B-King, and maybe the KTM Super Duke. | ||

I love mine !!!!! Only complaints are the mirrors and IMO the kick stand should have an interlock on it so that the bike can't be driven with the kick stand down ...Every jap bike I had had it . | ||

The older XB's have it, worst feature in the world. Just one more thing to malfunction. My old Yamaha dirt bike had one, and the switch got corroded and wasn't making contact. Easy to bypass, but pain in the ass to do stuck at work with limited resources. | ||

Hi All, I test drove both the R and CR. The R will stop the Interstate windblast, but the CR with the upright bars is an absolute hoot to ride. It was a tough decision, but I went with the naked CR and the upright handle-bar kit. Don't let all the negative talk about the radiator fairings scare you away. I too was puzzled by them until I saw the bike in person and then test drove one. They will grow on you. This is one bad-a$$ bike and I LOVE IT. Regards, Sleeper_777 | ||

these two bikes really have to be seen in person to really see there beauty. i liked the 1125 when i heard and saw it on the internet, but i fell in love when i saw them at the dealer. the cr like the r is just a work of art once u see it. | ||

I wouldn't ride with a 3/4 helmet anymore though. I don't know if I would go with the upright handlebar kit, but it's not like I'm not able to switch between though... Do you think they'll come out with a detachable wind screen for the CR? I wouldn't need it 99% of the time, but it would be nice for that 1%. | ||

RT_rick, I doubt that from the factory, but anything is possible. I am sure the aftermarket will have one soon. There is an assortment of options for the Lightning bikes, but only time will tell.  | ||

When he's commuting (mostly interstate) he has it on, but when he's off the highway, on the backroads, it's off. | ||

If you want to be the cookie cutter(I do) do not buy a 1125 its the most different thing you can buy on the market today. It plain out makes me giggle every time I ride. I hate giggleing! And cornering, I haven't even scuffed my pucks yet! Man if you are REALLY concidering buying a 1125 do the rest of us owners a freaking favor... DO IT! You'll love it! Just like sex. Its more addictive than a barn full of sheep. | ||

Cat EXACTLY!! Burr. The only honest neg, see the thread on "too much power". That sums it ALL up! I've only riden the R, but slight gearing change and A LOT of wind in my face, ill take the R. I've riden too long w-out a windshield, altough small it helps conciderbly. Your choice, but the bike is solid and you should be Satified, Excited, fufiled. I am!!! | ||

I didn't test ride a CR at the WIllow springs Inside pass, but with the normal windy conditions added to doing 130 down the front straight, I was damn glad I had wind protection. I started to think of it as the "safe" zone on top of the "quiet" zone. | ||

the one negative i have found is my xt is giving me stink eye every time i go to the garage and leave it behind.....  so now i just alternate days. to keep them both happy. |
