Just wondering if anyone has tried Dunlop Qualifiers. I can get a really good deal on them, but the good deal doesn't matter if they're crap. Any advice on these tires? |

I have used Qualifiers on my XB12 for a a couple of years, including several track days. I think they are a great handling tire, and according to friends who have tried both, they heat up quicker than Pirellis. They also have received top reviews in the press. PS: what kind of deal are you getting on them? |

Tried them on my S1 racebike; worked OK, but have found the Pirellis better, albeit wear out faster. That's on a race-only tuber tho'....may not be relevant for an XB. |

I had a set, lasted me 6500 miles. I'm not a racer though. |

I have them on a bike, they are OK for street, but take awhile to get warm for regular street riding. If you plan on doing some good track days on them or just using the bike for weekend twisties they are great but for commuting and quick trips I dont like them because they dont stick well when cold and take some good load to warm them up. |

Dunlop also recommends as an alternative the "Roadsmart" tire. This appears to be a longer wearing "sport touring" type of tire. Since I'm not interested in buying two sets of tires per year I'm wondering if anyone has tried these out? I'll save tires like the Qualifiers for track days, but for every day use I'm thinking the Roadsmarts might be just what the doctor ordered. Thoughts? Oddly enough Metzeler only recommends the Sportec M3. For the XB bikes they recommend the Roadtec Z6 as an alternative tire, but they do not list any alternative for the 1125R (by the way, don't bother checking Metzeler's website... they don't even list the 1125R, I got this information from a printed brochure). |
