I have a leak out of the rear cylinder rocker box/head gasket on my 12S. Can the gasket be replaced just by rotating the engine or is there not enough clearance and the engine must be removed?

This all started as a leak out of the PCV valve, which is what the tech said, but now it is clear that it is coming from the rear left corner of the gasket.

The original fix the tech did was put RTV around the PCV. I'd rather just take it out and clean it or put a new one in with the grommet and eliminate the RTV. Is there enough clearance from the X-brace to replace the rear PCV without rotating the engine? Does it just slide in/out of the grommet? Any sealer? I can't find anything in the manual on this?

Thanks

Rotate engine down to replace rockerbox gaskets. You can replace the PCV valve by removing your airbox lower, the grommet can be replaced this way too. You may have to disconnect the fuel line to gain clearance, make sure to purge the fuel first, and wear safety goggles. No sealant required.

Thanks, it's under warranty, just wanted to get a sense of how involved it will be and also learn just in case I have to do it some day.

So the PCV should slide in/out with no problem?
