sounds like a very good ride. I went a few months ago with several guys from fire station and rode the dragon. I love riding curves but i got sick riding the dragon at high speeds. |

OK, haven't heard from you guys about riding in a while. Another group of riders and I are planning a Suspension tuning session with a local bike team mechanic who works for KWS racing (there sponsor is K&N http://www.kwsracing.com/newsite/site/index-1.html ). We are going to meet at his shop west of Athens on Saturday morning. He's going to do some baseline settings and then we are going to take a ride to fine tune them. The guys a real pro at what he does and it should be fun and productive. I'll post the times and directions for anyone who's interested. |

Man, that suspension tuning sounds like fun, and something I need to do... but we have plans for saturday. Plus, I need to re-tourque my steering head. I have been getting a bit of a clunk under medium breaking lately. |

Well, the guy is always available (except during the racing season), so I can take you out there anytime. Just let me know when you want to do it. I will have to take my wifes bike out there soon, so I'll let you know. Are you riding Sunday? |

Ha.. just saw this today... nope, didn't get out to ride on Sunday. Melissa and I just started to go to a new church, so my riding, when it happens, will most likely be on Saturdays. But I will still keep you posted as to when I am going. I have been uber busy lately. Working full time, and taking two classes at UAH, and raising a 20 month old girl is definitely a way to make spare riding time very scarce. |

When do I get to see some of these local Buellers? I'm tired of being the only one pushing the jap bikes out of the way |

Well, everybody keeps asking about you. I keep trying to wreck, but somehow pull out of it I really enjoy riding with those guys. they really push you. Had a huge group Sunday, had to split into two groups about bikes 20 in all. |

Yeah, I saw the emails saying how many folks were out... That is great! I am going to see if I can get out there this coming weekend. Although I may get out a little late since church doesn't get out until 10am. |

Well, It seems that my plan to ride tomorrow has been changed. I have been having a little bit of a "clunk" under breaking lately, and figured it was the steering head bearing bolt just needed a little re-torque.. Well, as it turns out, the front isolator is shot out.. so no riding for me until I can get a part in and installed.... At least it happend at the end of the riding season. |

I went to Rocket H/D a few days ago. When I bought my XB (which I did not get from them because they didn't give me the best deal), I test rode one there in. I went to take a look at a new CR (sexy bike). I wanted to take it for spin, figured since they let me ride the XB, they'd let me ride the CR. No such luck. They wanted me to commit to buying it before they'd let me test it. I pitched one, but they didn't much care. I don't think I'll ever buy a Bike from them :-( |

I bought my bike from them... and about a month later I went to bike night at Sonic, and the guy who sold it to me was standing there asking me questions about it like he didn't know anything about it... He honestly forgot that he sold it to me, and knew nothing about it. When he sold it to me, he mentioned how he loved to ride the demo, and talked about how responsive it was... That, and the fact that they won't order parts unless you leave the bike with them means that I will never go back there again. I have a $50 gift card that my buddy gave me... unfortunately it can only be used at Rocket HD... so I may just have to go one more time for that... but that is it. When I need something, I get it from American Sport bike dot com, Stone Mountain HD, or Bumpus HD. (Message edited by RATyson on November 10, 2008) |

Stone Mt. is where I bought my Bike. Nice place to do business. BTW, be glad you didn't ride this weekend. It was freaking COLD! |

Stone Mountain is my old stomping grounds. I grew up just outside of downtown Stone Mountain (which happens to be about 10 miles away from Stone Mountain HD). It is on the other side of the mountain basically. They are some great folks over there. If I ever need to bring my bike in somewhere to get service, that is where I will take it. They are also the shop that sponsors March Badness in Suches each year. |

Any of you know somewhere that rents bikes in 'bama? I'm home in Prattville with the family for two weeks over Christmas and would like to surprise my dad with a day-trip... |

Cool! There may be a place in B'ham that rents bikes, but I have not heard of anyone locally that does. |

Hey Chris. Is your 9r white? If so, I think I saw you yesterday morning heading west on 72 between Wal-Triana and County line road. I was heading east in my WRX wagon. |

Hiya folks! Been a member of BadWeb for a short while, but never posted. A friend from another forum told me about the Huntsville riders here, and I thought I'd check it out. If any of you Huntsville folks ever want to get together and ride, I'd be more than happy to join. |

Hi Russell! Man... I dunno if I can ride with you. You see, except for the year and seat, you're bike and my bike are almost identical. Well, that, and I've removed the fork reflectors from my bike. Needless to say, your bike must be changed first (I suggest painting it pink/orange/purple or something) before I can be seen in public with you. LOL!!! Just kidding. By the way, I've updated my profile pic, so you can see the similarities. Yeah, my riding has been less than stellar these past few weeks. With all the rain, cold, etc., it's just difficult to get up and go. However, I've been making some exceptions these past few days. Whenever you, and anyone else here, are up to it, I'm ready to go for a ride just about any time. I might even be up for a quick ride on Saturday and/or Sunday. A short ride seeing that the temps are going to be between the 45-55 deg ranges, but a ride none-the-less. |

Russ, I sure did. Me, the wife, and one firey 2 yr old spent some glorious 70+ deg days down in Prattville. We made it up to Huntsville for quick drive-by visit for about a day, but other than that we just visited, ate too much, shopped too much... Sadly I didn't get a ride in. Everywhere we checked had either cancelled their rental program or never actually had one. Nearest place was, you guessed it, Stone Mtn...and that just wasn't gonna happen. By the way, we've been dumped on and have just about 5 feet of snow in our front yard...it's remained cold since (15-25 deg) so none of it has melted. Great for skiing though! Hope you had a good holidays as well...now go spin your bike around the block in my "non buell owning" honor |

Kevin, Ha! That is hilarious... Hey, don't do any wheelies in public. If my wife sees you, she'll think it was me, and I'll have a lot of 'splainin to do.. LOL. We could lead a parade! I was going to see if we could get all of the local buellers together for a ride sometime in the next month or so. Plus, there is March Badness in Suches, GA at the end March. I don't know if you have heard of that or not.. but it is a definite 'don't miss it' weekend. Scott, Glad you had a chance to visit! I will definitely think of you next time I get out and ride. Now go strap some wood to your feet and get to skiing!! (Message edited by ratyson on January 29, 2009) |

Hiya Russ, No worries. I couldn't do a decent wheelie to save my life. A few pathetic first gear clutch pops are about as good as I've done. As for getting the Buell folk together next month, that sounds like fun. I'll have to see about the March Badness though. Near the middle of February I'll be taking my bike up to my brother's and am going to get it painted. And in April, I'm going to Deal's Gap for the Dragon ride with a small group from www.buellforums.com (all here are more than welcome to come!). My wife is very understanding about me going out and riding, but being gone for a few days on end for three months in a row might get her riled a bit. We'll have to see. I'll probably be going out for some short runs this weekend. It's supposed to up in the 50's on Saturday and Sunday, so I think that it'll be fair enough to take the bike for a spin. You and anyone else here are more than welcome to join! |

There is a possibility that I could get out for a short ride tomorrow afternoon. I'm still a maybe for March Badness. My Mom is having a double mastectomy (breast cancer) some time in March, so it will depend on her schedule and progress. |

Sounds good. By the way, I sent you a PM. Man, I am so sorry to hear that your Mom has to go through the surgery. I really hope that when it is over, everything will be clean and clear of the cancer from then one. Thoughts and prayers go out to her. |
