Is it just a matter of reflashing the cluster or is the actual cluster different on the 09's ? |

Cluster is different for 2009. |

I'd bet money the only thing different for the 09 cluster is a software change. That doesn't mean Buell will make it available or even if it can be updated via a reflash. |

I thought the '09 cluster was a big larger to accommodate the gear readout. I could have swore it was bigger on the CR I saw last week, but then I could have been seeing what I wanted to see. |

So it will or won't fit and 08? |

It will fit just fine. It's the same size, just different display layout. Someone here had their cluster go bad on their 08 1125r and got a 09 cluster to replace it. |

It fits. Just got a new IC b/c my "toggle" switch died. It's an 09 with the gear indicator. Default screen appears to be a good choice, I like it - AT and gear. Indicator lights are brighter than my "first week build" original. At the end of all the info in Diagnostic Mode, it shows software AND calibration numbers. Losing actual CT while warming up SUCKS - I'll be talking to BMC on that. Flashing "COLD" doesn't cut it. It makes no sense to me, but Loretta runs smoother with the new IC. AFVs are still at 100/100 and she is the butter-smoothest she's ever been. Z |

Losing actual CT while warming up SUCKS - I'll be talking to BMC on that. Flashing "COLD" doesn't cut it. For a point of reference my 6/2008 manufactured bike flashes "COLD" also. |

Losing actual CT while warming up SUCKS - I'll be talking to BMC on that. Flashing "COLD" doesn't cut it. I agree 100%. It is made for the lowest common denominator. It penalizes those who have a clue and might like to know where the bike is in the warming up process. what was wrong with the flashing CT number until 150 degrees? |

Default screen appears to be a good choice, I like it - AT and gear. IMO, CT and gear would be a much better combo. Those would be 2 numbers that would be useful during riding. I think I know the answer, but why didn't Buell permanently dedicate a part of readout for the gear indicator? |

+1 Fresno CT and Gear should be the default combo. |

I tend to think AT, CT, and Gear is the proper combination for the default screen. Sorry, but I want it all! |

If Gear has its own space on the display, then it CT and AT could be on the same display....just like on the 08s |

With Winter coming on, I'm OK with Gear and AT. I am realizing what feels like a big temp drop is only a couple of degrees. Come Summer tho. I'm gonna be curious what my CT is.... Z |

tried to rearrange for gear and ct, unable to do. ct and batt voltage stay together. also, how do you reset the PIN on a bike you got through salvage and the ex owner is unavailable? thx, tim |

also, how do you reset the PIN on a bike you got through salvage and the ex owner is unavailable? I would contact BMC. They should have a way to reset or bypass the unknown PIN for you. you will most likely be asked to take your bike to the dealer. |

I dunno...from what I've heard from our techs, a lost PIN is...not good. I think it equals new cluster, unless something's changed since July (when I was last at work). |

i think new cluster and ecm would be more likely. got the bike with no cluster and the new cluster locked itself to the old ecm after 30 minutes of power on. the PIN was apparently stored in the ecm along with mileage. although the theft setting was not activated(bike runs and rides), it would be nice to be able to set it. only 9990 more possibilities. tim |

Wasn't sure of that, Josh. I'm going in to work in a couple of hours, I'll ask Justin if the DT II can reset the PIN. Z |

Zac, Did you order the 09 specifically, or is that just what they sent you as a replacement for you're 08, I'm assuming it was an 08. Les |

Same here, mine's an 08, #154. End of the first week of production last Fall. At the rate BMC is going, maybe a flash will enable AT, CT and Gear by Summer. Stranger things have happened. Z Oh, Tim - I asked Max, our #1 1125 tech and he doesn't think a flash is possible for your PIN. (Message edited by zac4mac on November 02, 2008) |
