I haven't been able to ride much cause of schedule and weather, but last week my lo beam headlight went out on a short ride. I checked the bulb and the fuse and both looked ok, so I've been using the high beam since then. I've gone maybe 40-60 miles that way and last night on the way home my high beam went out. (no fun at night) Haven't had a chance to check it out yet, but this is the only problem I've had with the bike. Did the high beam go out cause I used it exclusively for a couple days? I just have the stock lights on it, haven't even done the recall yet. It took my dealer a month to get the parts and I haven't had time to go in yet. Any suggestions about what to check or has anybody had a similar experience? Thanks! |

No, I lost my low beam down at Buelltoberfest, rode around for the better part of a month, 3k miles on just the highbeam, occasionally with my PIAA's too. |

I had my 9R's lights go out because of rotten wires. Check the sub harness that goes to the lights. It should be tucked up between the headlight housing. It's fixed there by a plastic tree. The black wire is the ground. At the harness it is common to both and some inches back it is split to each of them. The previous owner had done some work and never put it back. The wire had been exposed to moisture and had turned green and rotten. Because of the sequence of your lights out, I would first look at the actual 4 wire connector and makes sure those wires are good. After that, I would follow the black wire to where it divides to the two grounds. |

Thanks, just tore it apart and the High beam is fried, so I'd say they are not related. Not directly anyway. Do i have to go to harley to replace the bulbs or can I go anywhere? |
