I waited for the third upgrade before i had my reflash done and the bike runs smoother at low speed, gets slightly better fuel economy, does not seem to run any cooler but it has lost 10.88 horsepower and 6.18 ftlb of torque, not happy it has definatley taken the sting out of the bike. I will be getting it flashed back to the stock calibration next weekend Brett |

Brett, have you also bypassed the solenoid? If so, has this also been done since the first dyno? I also had a disappointing loss of power and torque on my post-flash dyno, even though my bike feels much sharper in normal riding - i.e. anything less than WOT. I am wondering, though, if my solenoid disconnect is responsible for this rather than the reflash - perhaps due to the rear butterfly getting wierd at max air flow...? I would want this question answered before going back to the old flash. Just a thought. If anybody would like to take a look at my pre/post flash/solenoid runs, and make an attempt at posting them, I can send you the dyno files. They are not jpg files, so may have to be converted. G'day Jack Yes my soleniod was disconnected afer the first dyno and before the reflash, youve thrown one in that i did'nt think about Brett |

Next question. Did you safety-wire the rear throttle linkage after the disconnect? I am not certain that this was done on mine, as the disconnect was performed by my dealer. I haven't had the lower air box off since to check it. Jack |

I'll see if I can set up a dyno run for Loretta. She has the noid-disco and the throttle plates are tied together. Running at her best, smoothest anyway, after the reflash and new IC. She has been dyno'd at 700 and 6000 miles, 126.8 and 127.8 - also 2 different dyno-jets. ODO says 13,450+ now. Z |

I had my dynoed the other day, i think they did a 4th gear run though. 114hp and 70 tq |

Jack- My dyno runs were not done at the shop I work at. One was at NRHS, Dan(Buelliedan) wanted to see how many horses as bad as I did. The other time was at a dyno shoot-out at a friend's shop - Loretta was strongest twin. I have no way to read anything but a paper printout. Just thinking of a quick and dirty run to see where she stands post-flash. Z |

One of the things, I believe guys, is to always ask yourself, "did I make ANY changes to the bike pre and post flash" that would alter the running besides the flash. I think its always good to do just one change at a time and test results. Although this is not always possible to the average guy without a dyno at hand. I waited until the last flash to disconnect the 'noid and tie the throttles together and I believe my bike is running stronger then ever, bottom to top end. As alluded to by Anonymous, the top end has not been altered what so ever. Just some logical thinking and personal experience. FWIW. Bob |

Bob, I believe that my bike is running better than ever also. But, when you see the dyno charts, you will wonder why - as they are pretty dismal. I'm glad I don't ride the dyno! I disabled the solenoid before the last flash, but both have been done between this dyno and my last one. I have been hoping to see a pre/post flash dyno posted on a bike that is still running the solenoid. That would be quite instructive I think. Jack |

I think it was Fresno that posted results similar to these, with those sharp fluctuations in the torque and HP lines. They remind me of a pull with a bad chain. I just can't imagine what is causing this on my bike unless it is related to the rear butterfly suffering from some unusual harmonic due to the solenoid cable being removed. You know, the old fluttering butterfly effect... Sorry, couldn't resist... Jack |

Nope, not me Jack. Actually there were dyno reports early on that showed there was no hit to the power curve. That was a big concern of mine. Did you lock your butterflys together after the reflash? |

Tasmaniac & others... Did you ride your bike for at least 200 miles before making another dyno pull? If the "learn" ride you are referring to is the 3rd gear @ 4k rpm deal, I can tell you that out of all the 08 11's we've been messing with since earlier this year, I've not personally seen one example that responds to this method. They do post a change after at least 150 miles though. This "learn" ride has afforded only one benefit to my personal bike...getting 8,000 miles out of the original Pirelli! No lie, I think I might hold the record for a rear corsa III on an 1125?! I've never ridden a bike in this manor in my life...that's what I get for trying to really understand! They all took between 150-200 miles before updating the afv's after a reflash or with a modest modification to the intake, exhaust system or altering the internals to benefit pumping characteristics. We've seen up to 115%, (which is borderline for the stock fuel system to target reliably) just to give you an idea of the changes. IMO, a back to back dyno run with any major change (or reflash-reset) cannot be considered a credible comparison...given a stock ecu with o2's hooked up. I'd really recommend running the crap out of it for a couple hundred miles, monitoring any possible changes in AFV via diagnostic mode on the dash...then dyno it. The latest map is the correct one...the earlier version is problematic, even if you didn't experience it's ugly head. There is NO evidence to support that the latest flash would harm peak HP numbers. NONE. FYI, Three different flashes have now been decoded from the stock ecu's and to say they were studied hard would be an understatement. Also, locking the throttle body 1:1 should be a given now...along with a TPS reset reflecting a 2%-100% TPS readout afterwords in diagnostic mode. This is VERY important. Just trying to help. I would hate to see anyone go in the wrong direction until all the data is verified. For that data to be accurate, the stock ecu only needs time. You might be surprised what it does in the end. This is all with the given that the flash is correct and there are no buggers in the mix! |

Im worried about such a low dyno readout on mine. im pretty sure they did a 4th gear run(they wouldnt let me by the bike not even in the same building, i know!) but i stood outside and only heard 4 gears. But i have removed the soleniod also tied the throttle linkage. i have the inner air box remove too.(which does give it more power. one the highway 2nd gear wheelies were tough, then took it back out and its a sinch airfuel was no higher then 14ish lower then 14.5 on dyno) Im worried its really low. what is every one else using 6th or 5th? i know normally goin from 4th to 5th would give u some more hp and tq on the dyno so would goin from 4th to 6th give me 10 or more hp? i dont think i was too harsh in break in. a couple wheelies. umm anyone? also this dyno is a accelerom, which ive heard arent the best type. |

oh and ive had the 3rd reflash with probably 3oo miles since, and lots of learning time like constant speed in 3th and 4th with no change in the afv. still 100 100 |

Thanks Sly I had a couple of thousand kilometres between reflash and dyno run i have the oportunity to change between flashes next weekend for free but wont have the time to get large kilometres between the runs. makes me wonder if it's worth the bother if it's not going to give accurate data. Fifth and sixth gear fall in very close on either side of 1:1. They are both plus or minus .04. Blake was kind enough to convert my runs to gif files, which I will attempt to attach to this message. Jack
