Its always nice to have electronics in moisture, they work so much better that way! Its a bike, the cluster should be water resistant and I think some other people on here had the same problem and got their clusters replaced because of it. My bike is almost always in a garage and has only been wet a couple of times and the day I was going to the dealer to get the cluster replaced for a draw problem it fogged up. I went to breakfast and the cluster was facing the sun and it must have had some water in it and the sun caused it to fog up. I couldn't even see my speed it was so bad. The water may have been part of the draw that the cluster had, who knows. |

Mine leaks air a bit, and that's the problem. I know that, because the INSIDE of my cluster is dusty. So, the day I had the fog problem you guys are describing, the dust collected in the droplets, and then when the droplets became a drop and ran down on the inside of the crystal and dried I was left with two nasty, dirty runs down the INSIDE of the crystal where they can't be cleaned. In glare, I can't see anything, really. Quite frustrating. My solution? My radar detector tells me when I need to slow down. How much I have no idea. My butt tells me when to shift. Alas. |

The speedometer is required by law. I would think readability would too? This sounds like a cluster ummm cluster |

mine fogged up but it was not because of moisture - i live in reno where the average humidity is less than 5% and we get less than 7 inches of rain/ year. its been a problem with a couple people. mine seemed like it was because of sunlight beating down on it |

Mine did the same thing. In the corners it foged and is dirty on the inside. I brought it in and they ordered me a new one! Still waiting on it but it is warranted! Its one of the many little things they are doing right now. Another belt that i broke, turn signals, remap, kickstand, oil dipstick, and some other things. |

Tell them you want the 09 cluster, even if you have to pay a little if there is a price difference. I'm kinda hoping my fogs up or craps out cuz I'd really like to have a gear indicator. |

Dave - how many belts? I killed one when the muffler bolt that runs thru the idler backed out and froze the idler wheel(my fault). Burnt .140" off the belt in 7 miles... it's a spare now. Are you running the guards or did you remove them? How wet/sandy is your environs? Zack BTW, I got the 09 IC for Loretta, a switch died. I like it, gear indicator is cool, flashing "COLD" sux. This will be my third belt. All the guards are in place and there is no rocks getting inbetween the belt and the pulley. They just come apart. Looks almost like a seam break. Straight across the belt with the strands all breaking. This last time four cogs came off before it snapped. Im tired of the stupid belt to say the least |
