New kid is having a problem cracking the code on how to post a pix of the bike. I will copy the website for the auction below. I have been planning to buy an S3/T in the spring and only bid this because the reserve was met at $5400. I posted an hour before it closed and went to lunch. I nearly fell out of my chair when I got back to the office and saw I had won!! This bike has 1,994 miles and a few aftermarket upgrades. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1869407156&rd=1 You can cut and past to view the bike. Stephen in Seattle |

Hey Ferris! Recognize the location? Shel and I did the Shaniko ride on Friday; man did that bring back some memories! The only thing missing was six other Buells and the rain. Jim

Hey Stephen, Have a great and safe ride home to Seattle. Be sure to ride 33 north from Ojai, you won't regret it. PCH, Big Sur, Big Basin. Oh man, you're in for a treat on that thing... I bet you sell all your BMW's when you get home! Lornce |

All Right, All Right, GREAT looking XB9S, but what difference does the race kit make on the "butt-dyno" and what is the difference in sound? Thanks Neil S. |

I can tell you how it did on my 9r (same engine as 9S)... It made a hole in the powerband at 3000, but at 4-4500 it REALLY shines. In fact if you whack the throttle at 4500 in 1st gear, the tank will knock the wind out of you when the front wheel comes off the ground. 65mph 5th gear roll on's feel stronger, and like I said before, when it get's to 4500 it really wakes up compared to stock trim. Sound leaves some desire. Depending on your taste. If you like the sound of the Force pipe on the old 1200 mill, you will definately be disoppointed. It sounds tight, kinda snort-ish, loud, but not obnoxious. It will sound quiet in a group of HD's. I really need to make a sound clip. Noface |

EVERYTHING sounds quiet in a group of HD's. They make for their lack in speed with noise. All show, no go. |

All I can say is... I was only really able to put about 15 miles on before the rain started in earnest... But with that short of a seat time, I was able to disearn that sound is surely equal to the V&H that resided on my dearly departed 98' S3.... The throttle response seemed a little crisper.... but that is about all I can really tell at this time as I'm at approx. 400 mi on the odometer and am not really willing to open her up until 500 (for that matter 1000Mi)... more reports to follow..... I can say that this thing is the Shiznick! People stop and gauk!... and say NICE Bike!... More of a head-turner that the S3 ever was... kk//kef |

I never thought my bike would come about so quickly. I went from this to this in 1 day. Now if it will only go back together as easily. JT |

Ray_Maines added: "EVERYTHING sounds quiet in a group of HD's. They make for their lack in speed with noise. All show, no go." I agree. It's just that I have only heard three different pipes on Buells that I've been exposed to. The V&H slip on, Force pipe, and the Buell Pro Series on the tube frame bikes, and now my 9R with the fetal pig (that makes 4). The best I can compare the fetal pig to is the V&H slip-on. Tone is about the same from my last memory of my buddy's S3(he wiped it out a couple months back and is still recovering), but the V&H may be a bit louder. I'm a Sportster convert, so HD is about all I can compare it to. Still working on a sound bite... Noface |

Spidey, That's call get it all one color in time for bike week. I ended up spending all summer riding it that way. It's actually Krylon flat black primer. The body work will be wet sanded and painted within the next two weeks (along with a GP tail section and a Lockhart Phillips fairing). After that the frame should be back from the powder coaters and Em will be wearing her new outfit. JT |

Hi Peter, did you cheat and was it translated by your lovely wife ? Almost perfect: "Ik" has to be written in undercast. (Peter answered that he didn`t know where and how much for that striping, and if he has to find out) |

Peter, Right: I could not imagine you in that monastery in Limburg, where nuns learn people, with some basic knowledge, within 7 long days, and half the nights, to master a language. They have divine power there. ( I suppose.) Hans |
