Court, put me down for a shirt(L) and a poster---as long as we are not financing renovation of apartment and dog.And if I have to wait more than 48 hrs I might explode.Coming down from a Bonneville high sucks,I need an upper.(Though Griz's CD helped) |

Anyone else having trouble with "File Locking Error" on the new messages search? Seems like I get it a lot. Unfortunately, it apparently records the failed attempt, too, so retrying it comes up empty. |

Aaron . . .thanks for testing the magic fuel pellets . . .when I first saw the ad, I was reminded of an evening some years agao, when my buddy and I, owning a VW bug together, went through the Warshausky's catalog, wrting down the part numbers, prices, and claimed horsepower gains for all the go-fast part they listed for this fine piece of german engineering. If we had had access to about $350, we would have been able to build a 275 hp flat four, all without removing anything more difficult than the carb float bowl . . . .. . luckily, we were flat broke |

Bomber, And had all that stuff worked, you could have also ordered the license-plate wobbler, and proceeded in Steath Mode, anonymity guaranteed. |

yeah, not to mention the tin-foil in the hub-caps deal . . .that ALWAYS worked! when we sold the VW (6-volt beatle), we listed it in the local rag: German Sport Sedan Modified Flat-four engine Bucket Seats 4 speed on the floor 4-wheel independant suspension radial tires the bargain-seeking Porsche guys were NOT amused when they saw the clapped out beatle in the driveway ya gotta remember this was 1967, when ford was selling small block fairlanes as "handling machines" |

Aaron- When you retry and it mentions something about re-posting the info or not, do NOT repost the form info. You'll get the missed search results. A few weeks ago I was getting a BUNCH of those errors but they're back to being the exception for me... -Saro |

Aaron, I used to get the file lock error quite often. It went away for about 2 months. It's popped up 5 times in the last week. I'll try the back key and see if it clears... |

My friends on Badweb ... after the events out on the salt, my emotions got the better of me and I made some comments on here that I shouldn't have made, with respect to the tactics employed by one of my competitors. I feel bad about making those comments, and I wish to publicly apologize to everyone, including my competitor. Making those comments was way out of line. (don't bother looking for them, I'm a moderator, I can make things go away) AW |

Heck Aaron... I thought you were the model of restraint. Basically, the impression I got was that "the other fellow" played the game by holding his cards close and gathering all the information he could get wherever he could, and you play the game by being open and available and sharing as much as you can. I also got the impression you probably would have told him everything he found out anyway, and probably more, had he just come out and told you what he was doing and asked the questions straight out. Feel free to moderate the top half of this comment out as well if it says more then you want said, but leave the next paragraph here... For people who hear the apology, but can't go back and see the original posts... they were not that bad... really. |

Aaron . . .reep's right . . . .. your apology is classy, but not waranted . . . anyone who's competed in anything could easily recognize your frustration, and understand it. you really were pretty restrained, but, again, apologies are a balm to the soul, very often to that of the apologizer now you can go back again and kick his, er, beat his time next year |

Imagine a ball that's black on one side and white on the other. There's a person standing on each side. One guy insists it's black, the other guy insists it's white, because from their respective positions, that's all they can see. Well, this situation is like that one. And I don't want to stand up and argue that it's black. All I can say is that it looks black from here. But to stand up and say that it IS black because that's the way it looks from here, well, that's wrong. I was out of line. |

Concerning the Washington DC sniper Ferris: The house of interest in Tacoma is in the Oakland district, two blocks south of Center St., between Union Ave. and Tyler St. FogCity: I don’t know what the FBI found in that back yard but I’m 100% confident that if it were in a tree stump or less than 6” below the surface they found it and it’s in a U-Haul truck headed east as we speak. Jim: The story continues to unfold. Here’s the latest news as I post this, but it’s probably stale by now. Rocket: I guess I don’t have to keep low now. After I got my fill of the local news last night I drove down the street and cruised the area. I saw a couple of young teenagers on Skateboards, an older teenage couple holding hands, adults chatting with each other and an older woman tending to her flower garden. It appeared to be a delightful, peaceful, and unusually warm Fall evening featuring a really pretty red and blue sunset. It appeared so until I looked around the next corner and saw the police barricades between me and enough equipment to supply six news crews, listened to the three news helicopters hovering above, and saw the now famous U-Haul truck being loaded by FBI agents. It’s hard for me to have a mental image of that nice quiet neighborhood populated by both a nice old lady that loves flowers and the most heinous mass murderer in America for the last 25 years. I’m not usually affected my such things but I was WIDE awake past midnight last night thinking about how many times my kids filled their gas tanks, how many times my wife shopped at the Home Depot store and how many times I’ve stood on the top step of my bus waiting for my leave time. I thought about how many times we all did normal things while some evil and demented loony was taking target practice at a stump in his back yard 2.5 miles down the road. Before mornings light I was very grateful he moved 3,000 miles away before his mind snapped. |

Aaron First of all, excellent analagy. Do you mind if I ust that one? Second, without taking any sides as I wasn't there, personally I like to see straight up competition - no games, let's just see who's fastest. To me a record would seem tainted if the only reason it's held is because the other guys were run out of time not because it's the best run to be had. On that note, as it stands you guys are the fastest and for that... sincere congratulations. |
