Steve (Slaughter) look forward to seeing you both days (10/27 & 11/3). Any other Badwebers doing Trackexperience 10/27? James (jprovo) is heading out with me for Inside Pass. For anybody who shows up either day, I'll be the guy on the yellow Blast (I'm sure the only one) holding up traffic |

PS I'm pretty sure Willow Springs doesnt allow sparking sliders. Though they do look cool. Kinda makes us Harley riders a little squeamish. We see sparks and naturally assume bike parts are falling off! |

Ebear, Re: arrangements for Willow and Infineon; PM sent. Hey, just in case there is another Sig-Alert on turn 9 at Willow this year, do you want to borrow back the Ti-Max gloves? Andrew |

Can't make it today - the dyno at AV took a dump two days ago and I can't risk the motor without at least measuring air/fuel... totally bummed - wanted to dial in the bike before Inside Pass... oh well... |

I'll be using Inside Pass for on-track setup and tuning. Probably not do more than a session on the demo bikes since I NEED the track time. Double bummed... how'd it go today???? |

SCAB ride this Saturday.... As decided at last months SCAB meeting, because the Buell Inside Pass track day is Monday, we’re doing the odd month first Sunday ride this SATURDAY, November first. Nov. 1 is Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead). So you gotta have a skull on somewhere…. A pin, a mask, a valve stem cap, a full skeleton passenger, whatever. Just have a skull on or be ready to face the ridicule of your fellow Socal Buellers. The days schedule goes like this: We meet for Breakfast at the Paradise Corner Cafe at 9:30AM. Google map location is here: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=6 1721+State+Highway+74,+Mountain+Center,+CA+92561&s ll=33.582591,-116.592407&sspn=1.816747,3.188782&ie =UTF8&ll=33.569444,-116.59171&spn=0.001774,0.00311 4&t=h&z=19 We’ll finish breakfast and then drive down 74 to Palm Desert. Then we’ll turn around and come back up 74, which if you hit traffic just right is a real hoot. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=6 1721+State+Highway+74,+Mountain+Center,+CA+92561&s ll=33.582591,-116.592407&sspn=1.816747,3.188782&ie =UTF8&ll=33.651065,-116.399803&spn=0.05673,0.09964 9&t=h&z=14 We’ll continue past the restaurant and take 74 past the turn up to Idylwild and go back down the hill towards Hemet. At the bottom of the hill, we’ll turn around and come back up 74, which if you hit traffic just right is a real hoot. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=6 1721+State+Highway+74,+Mountain+Center,+CA+92561&s ll=33.582591,-116.592407&sspn=1.816747,3.188782&ie =UTF8&ll=33.705063,-116.75849&spn=0.056694,0.09964 9&t=h&z=14 We’ll turn at 243 and head through Idyllwild down the hill to Banning. We’ll turn around there and come back up 243, , which if you hit traffic just right is a real hoot. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=6 1721+State+Highway+74,+Mountain+Center,+CA+92561&s ll=33.582591,-116.592407&sspn=1.816747,3.188782&ie =UTF8&ll=33.861151,-116.820717&spn=0.113181,0.1992 99&t=h&z=13 We’ll eat lunch in Idyllwild, ridicule our friends that aren’t wearing skulls, and raffle off some goodies. Then folks will head their separate ways. San Diego bound folks that want to follow me will go back 371 to 79 and go up Palomar Mountain. It’ll be later in the day, there won’t be much traffic, and it’ll be a real hoot. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=6 1721+State+Highway+74,+Mountain+Center,+CA+92561&s ll=33.582591,-116.592407&sspn=1.816747,3.188782&ie =UTF8&ll=33.302914,-116.877537&spn=0.028479,0.0498 25&t=h&z=15 We might even stop at the Hideout on the way by if folks are up for it, especially if there’s someone with us that isn’t wearing a skull so we can further ridicule them. For folks riding up from San Diego way, Tom and I will be at Bigg’s HD/Buell in San Marcos at 7:50 AM Saturday, kickstands up at 8:00 AM. Be there gassed up if you want to ride up. We’ll likely do the usual Gopher Canyon to Lilac To couser to rice to 79 to sage to Wilson valley, etc. If you’re going to Willow Springs for the Buell Inside pass track day, get a room in Lancaster for Sunday night. We’re at the Comfort Inn next to Antelope Valley HD/Buell. Steve (slaughter) is going to tell me the meeting place for dinner, I’ll send another mail out on that. See ya Saturday. With a Skull. Green House Cafe Decent food, good selection - but no grilled type steaks or seafood. Pastas, salads - but good prices and CLOSE to AV Buell and the hotel. Prices are reasonable and they can tolerate an unscheduled crowd on a Sunday. There are a TON of other restaurants but they'll probably not be quite as suitable to an informal group. Popular spot for locals and we'll often stop in after Sunday at Willow. Be curious to hear thoughts but it won't really be a voting thing - Al can just set the destination and we'll join in. We're looking into a couple restaurants where you can get good steaks and fish - but that's starting to look pricey and more likely to be crowded. Greenhouse is less than 2 miles from the hotel. Regardless of where it is, I'll invite Scott and Lori Kellerman to dinner too - they RUN AV Buell and they are the coolest couple of Buell enthusiasts. Probably get a few of their employees to come along with us all. Good folks and they're now sponsoring a couple racers for 2009!!! (Message edited by slaughter on October 30, 2008) |

Worse than beer - they CLOSE at 8 on Sunday. Al's got a list of other local restaurants that all stay open later... he'll make the call. |

OK, sunday night, 7:30 PM, here: From Slaughter's email to me: Marie Calendar's. I called and they recommended we call them with a rough headcount since there happens to be a musical running at the Performing Arts Center and if we get them a headcount and time, they'll make sure we can get seated without waiting. It's RIGHT there by AV HD/Buell (0.4 mi) and is connected to the Oxford Inn. It has a good selection of food. Walking distance to your hotel. www.mcpies.com/ LANCASTER #130 1649 W. Brian and Ebear and other Lucky LA County Badwebbers (Scott?), I am leaving LB at 6:30 sharp and going down 405 to 73 to 5 to 74 (Ortega Hwy) to 15 to 79 to the Wilson Valley Road loop to Paradise Cafe. I am happy to meet anywhere along that route. Google Maps says 2.5 hours, but since I'm not familiar with the area I'm leaving a little early. PM me or drop a line if you are interested. I am chillin at voting office in Norwalk just in case I'm "under the weather" on Tuesday. No on "I"!!!! |

Wilson valley loop is recommended by American Sport Bike Al. It's off the 79 go north on... ...sumthin and turn back south on Wilson Valley back down to (351?) to Paradise Cafe. It's on the San Diego boys ride in one of the links Al posted above. See you at gas station at 7:30 at Ortega and the 5. In case there is more then one gas station, which one or or what corner (NE, NW, etc.) Anybody checked the weather? I'm wearin' street ridin' clothes and bringin' rain gear so my leathers will be dry on Monday. |
