Is there anyway to sync the throttle bodies? I pulled everything apart and it didn't look like there was a spot to connect vacuum lines to?

There were what looked like vacuum lines leaving each throttle body and went to the left side of the engine.

I know that a good sync is always helpful when using more than one carb/throttle body.

Anyone else tried this yet? As it is not even in the repair manual.

First of all, I don't recommend doing this but if your gonna anyway...

My method is to block off the idle air passages, step up the manual idle speed, remove the clutch vac/balance lines, remove one vac line leading to the MAP sensor (its ported inside)...and break the factory seals on the adjustment screws.

I did this on mine a good while ago. I simply hooked into the ports used for the clutch vac lines at the intake manifolds.

No major gain was found. It is my theory that the balance tubes/idle air ports and so on, stabilize any appreciable difference if the sync is slightly off.

If you look at the throttle blades while the engine is running at idle...they do move about slightly. I'm afraid this is a case of trying to split hairs.

It should be noted that this throttle body is calibrated on highly specialized equipment and in messing with any of the above will totally void a $1000.00 warrantied assembly.

Choose wisely and Happy Tuning! : ) mm

what are you going to sinc?
Is there not a computer (ECM) that controls everything?
My bike has been running great since the re-flash.

So pretty much they are synced once when put together and are not ment to do it again?

Two_buells, Normally when you have more than one throttle body or carb, you can gain throttle response and better overall running of you engine with the assemblies in perfect sync. The electronics usually have little to do with keeping both or all the throttle bodys linked perfectly.

Focus01,

Yes, they are balanced & sealed (on far more exotic equipment than any of us could wish to afford) from the factory and that is why you will not find adjustment procedure in the manual.

This throttle body assembly is unlike anything else before it.

There is more than enough balance within the design to compensate for what we are used to thinking as common procedure.

Don't forget...there is also other things going on to compensate between the two cylinders, electronically. Mainly, Adaptive Fuel Value...aka, AFV...plus F & R separate Fuel AND Spark Maps and only insiders know what else for the time being!

Again, I recommend not to touch it. If you feel there is a related problem, take it in to the dealer. Procedure has been to replace the entire unit if found defective in any way, right down to the tps...

...that is IF the factory seals are still intact. mm
