Sparky, as I've been a long time fan of the Quasar, designed and built by Malcolm Newell, I'm also aware of the efforts of one Royce Creasey, also a FF (feet first) genius, and also author of many books on FF concepts. Here's a nice link I thought you might enjoy, for all your perusals.......Feet First Motorcycling.....and I bet Dan Gurney has shared a pint or two with him Roc, I'll make no bones about it, it could prove unsafe, but if you smack that Marchesini hard enough in the right place with a suitable plastic hammer, you might be surprised how easy it is to repair that wheel, and from experience it doesn't take years of practice. If you do a good job a perfect wheel will spin true and balance perfectly. The molecular structure I'll leave to Blake. Go for it ! This advice is given free of charge, seeing as I thrashed your Dad's Busa !!!! Richard, I missed you and Brian this year. You're both lovely guys and I look very forward to kissing the both of you next year, in CO that's if they'll let me back in !!! Rocket |

Can you say OUCH?!!! i've already started practicing, Pammy! (and btw, thanks for the "dangly bits" compliment, not sure i fully qualify......) hey Court or Aaron, next time you chat with Richard would you tell him he writes as eloquently as he assaults the salt flats? nice words, Mr. Nallin, looking forward to meeting you someday FB |

Roc, You may want to re-think taking advice from a grown man standing on a dinner table lifting his skirt exposing his (or lack of) Giblets!! The man is unstable and is not to be trusted! Any advice he may give you is subject to your going to the elders in your group for verification. Oh Ya, You where there! He's a few spokes shy of a full spool! Ha, hahahahahah In The Rain Forest, Bob |

All - Are the Nallin’s hiring an office manager or have they hired one? If they are looking will someone please let me know where to send a resume. Rocket – I thought of taking a hammer to it myself. Maybe I will give it a try; after all it is already bent. Bob – Thanks for the number and the offer to weld my part. I will call them tomorrow. |

Roc, try straightening it if you want but many times if not done correctly it will be out in two spots. This makes double the work for the wheel guy and may up the price. (I learned the hard way) In The Rain Forest, Bob |

Brad, Maybe the fumes got to him and he did what the product is called. Kind of like what a certain herb does to people when they smoke it. |

Perhaps you can use GoofOff to remove the duct tape? (there's lots of great ideas on this board if you really squint hard while reading between the lines) |

Well I wasn't to sure where to post this but the gdb will have to do. Some folks managed to make it to the BRAG/Pacific Track Time trackday at Thunderhill on Oct 10th and what a great time we had. Hats off to Leslie and Todd for a great experience. Next year promises to be even better. Here's a small taste: |

Am I the only who leans while looking at those pictures? TEAM ELVES UPDATE Who's interested in: 1) A TEAM ELVES "Fast Friends on American Bikes" t-shirt featuring the photo of Aaron, Richard and YOUR 200MPH Buell on the front and some sort of an appropriate (Henrik and/or Dave Gess are hereby instructed to collaborate and present me options late tonight) "in your face" message on the back? I expect the shirt (based on a quantity of 100) to retail for $25 + $5 for my valuable time shipping them. 2) The same drill in an attractive poster (suitable for autographes) commemorating TEAM ELVES and how a group of lacky's around the world collaborated, got a Pammy whipped hubby to power, a rancher to build and a Cajun to ride the amazing BUELL AMERICAN MOTORCYCLE to go 200 MPH. I see the posters as costing about $16.78 each (again based on ordering 100) and being $20 total by the time we get it pointed toward your corner of the world. I, along with Rosita, as some of you know, am somewhat occupied with restoring a house to order with a looming 7:00pm touchdown deadline tonight so..... REQUIRED ACTION: Send am e-mail to TOO GOOD A DEAL TO PASS UP! with a subject line to wit: shirt-Yes / poster - Yes shirt - Yes / poster - No or whatever. HINT: I suggest, and I am no dummy, that "yes" votes are in order. My reason, I hope, will become quite clear within the next 48 hours. Alot of this stuff would be much easier to explain away if Jack had an opposing thumb. . . 7:10PM is approaching at light speed |

Isn't Henrik around there? At this point, I think giving Jack an opposing thumb might be the most straightforward solution. If anyone can do it, Henrik can... |

I always hate to interrupt with annoying technical questions . . . . ;-) Checked all my electricals (finally!) to get to why my '00 M2 won't start after riding, and found that the battery seems to be OK (charges fine, holds charge for a week no problem), the stator puts out ~50V at ~2000rpm and is not grounded or open, but the output at the regulator is <4V. All connections and grounds seem fine. I guess that makes my regulator the culprit, eh? How much are these things? Dealers keep them in stock? Thanks O '00 M2 '00 Blast |

Well, Brian Nallin e-mailed me telling me to e-mail him for help. So I did, only to get a network reply saying his e-mail doesn't exist. Wazzup? Brian, call me at 713-937-9001 if you can. |

Pinkpank: Check the master ground strap connection to the frame. It tends to corrode and stop the flow of electrons. Good luck, ride safe. If you need a new regulator, take a look at the one Crane sells for buells and sportsters. It has a battery tender built in as well as circuitry to stop the charging cycle when the battery is full. Now pink, arent you glad you didnt blow $80 bucks on a new battery, regulators are usually in stock, and cost around 80-100 bucks from an hd dealer, less from others like dennis kirk, easy to replace, but like was mentioned before check the ground strap just in case later Roger |

Is the place rebuilt? We're 5H:47M from disaster and moving quickly. I am returning the Thor 80# jackhammer (long story with a "foreign" object in the sewer) to All-American Rentals and then back to put finishing touches on. Clock ticking.....gotta go. Court |

Thanks for all the help . . . $100 for a regulator? ;-0 Yikes. Oh well. Do these things fail THAT often? 2000 miles and one year of use? Sheesh . . . Ground strap - must be OK, since I was using the frame of the bike for reference when making my measurements AND for charging the battery. And if I can get 6 amps (momentarily) through that strap to the battery, then the regulator should also be able to get SOME juice to it, I would think. Checked out OK visually, too - but I did NOT take it off all the way. Regulator is grounded well, I get <0.1 ohms from the regulator case to the negative bettery terminal. I love my VOM. ;-) Almost as much as starting that bike. When it starts, that is. ;-0 Oliver |
