Hey I was just wondering if anyone has pictures of how and where they relocated their licence plates. I just got an integrated smoked-black tail light/blinker and if i could get rid of the bracket holding on the licence plate it would really clean the rear end of my bike up. Thanks, Tony |

Check into Trojan's "Tidy Tail". That is what I got for mine and I like it. |

Or you can go the cheap route and take a firebolt license frame. I had to make a plate to cover up the hole though.

I built mine out of aluminum and 304 stainless... Hand-formed the hole cover from 1/8" aluminum plate. Wedge-washers, stand-offs and force-spreader are aluminum also. Plate carrier is rolled 14ga. SS-304.

One of these days I will be able to resize photos...until then! Profiled .125" Alum w/Tig welded tubes...and fully integrated LED tail/turn/tag light within the stock Lens. Wet in photos is water, NOT oil...LOL! http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq86/markel1125 /SANY0160.jpg http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq86/markel1125 /SANY0158.jpg |

You do not need to resize them you just need to copy the IMG link from your photobucket account. |

Josh, nice job. It's simple and looks like it's meant to be that way. I made the same modification except I bought another bracket in case I screwed up. It was around forty bucks, so it was somewhat more expensive. I cut my bracket back to just before the signal light flanges. I filled the hollow with epoxy, drilled and installed screw anchors. Took a half inch wide by 1/8 inch thick, approx. 6inches long piece of aluminum stock and screwed that to the bracket. Then drilled holes and mounted the plate. I removed the tail light and cut out the undertail below the light, like the XB's and used the tail light for the plate light and did away with the stock one. Obviously cheaper than some of the aftermarket kits and it looks good. I'm sorry I don't have any pictures, maybe one of these days. How did you fasten your plate to the bracket? Is that a ZX-10 in the background? I have an '88 ZX-10, that color looks like the '90 model. Or maybe a 750? Brian |

Thats a good idea about the undertail. i was goin to use some aluminum rod and drill it out the center then one hole on the side for the stock light to shine onto the licence plate. ur way is alot cleaner. once i cut the bracket i took some jb weld two part epoxy(like mighty putty) packed the ends of the bracket with it and inset a bolt in each side. then i just drilled the holes in the license plate and set it on the bracket and tightened up the bolts. i just really liked the brackets shape over just plan aluminum stock. so the mod was perfect. im thinkin of a integrated tail/blinker combo and just throw in a license plate light in the mix. if thats possible. im goin to ask around. xb lights will be my first. thats my girls bike. its a 07 or 06 250 just before they got rid of the old style. id like to see some pics of ur mod. josh |
