hey gang ....a friend of mine is doing a part swap on the gearcase covers from a painted to a chrome gearcase cover. the chrome is off a 97. the painted is a 2000. I do not have the parts to look at myself or I could probably answer it myself...so pic would help so i could show him. and verify and reassure him before he puts it together. the problem.. the return oil passage from the crankcase on the 2000 right side crankcase half is blocked off by the earlier model gearcase cover. (I know all about the gasket changes) but if I relief the earlier style gearcase cover it should work fine...is there any other differences in the cover i am missing.? |

Cam covers are year specific. 1991-1999 use one style and 2000 and newer use another style. they are not interchangeable. |

Send the 2k case cover out to a plating shop. How's he gonna deal with the center section being wrinkle finish black? |
