I got this recall done, now, is it so I can check the oil with the bike on the sidestand?

no, still check it when the bike is straight up and down

to my understanding, the dipstick was just modified with either a different plastic and/or easier to read marks to help make it more clear as to where the oil level is and how much more or less to change the level of oil to make it correct
