I was looking at the service interval chart in the owner's manual posted online on this site, and I saw some interesting problems. I'll have to check my hard copy at home to see if the same problem exists in the paper copy I received with my bike. Please, someone, tell me if I am missing something. I ran a quick search, but I did not find a thread on this topic. The first service at 620mi/1000km--no problem. The second service at 6200mi/10,000km--no problem. The third service at 12,400mi/20,000km--no problem. The fourth interval should be at 18,600mi/30,000km. But, this one is not listed. I seriously doubt Buell intends everyone to go 12,400 miles without a service (that is, from 12,400mi to 24,800mi, which is the next-listed service). I would guess it should be identical to the 6,200mi service, but who knows? Things get really screwed up starting with the fourth interval listed (which probably should be the fifth). It says 24,800mi/30,000km. However, 24,800mi is actually about 40,000km, not 30,000km (24,800mi times 1.609344 km/mi = 39,911.731km). The next 3 intervals listed, at 31,000mi, 37,200mi, and 43,400mi, are each off by exactly 10,000km. That is, 31,000mi should be 50,000km instead of 40,000km, etc. It may be that these are all relatively easily fixed. Maybe we should just subtract 6,200 from each of the listed service intervals starting with the one designated at 24,800mi. You then have nice, neat, clean service intervals at 6,200mi/10,000km. On the other hand, Buell may have simply omitted the 18,600 interval. We just don't know what Buell intended for what needed to be done at what interval. One more problem. Further down in the service interval chart, it says the coolant should be replaced every 31,000mi or 40,000km. Again, their math is screwed up. Do they mean 31,000mi/50,000km? Or do they mean 24,800mi/40,000km? It is a European engine, so I would assume that the 40,000km interval is correct, which means the coolant gets replaced every 24,800mi, not every 31,000mi. But again, who knows? Anyone? |

Is it a early 2008? Reading hear Buell has been absolved of all mistakes in the first print. (remember the oil change procedures?) I'm sure you are correct that they intended a regular schedule. |

My paper copy of the owner's manual, at table 26, appears to be correct. There is an 18,600mi service interval, and the metric and english distances line up (e.g., 31,000mi at 50,000km, etc.). It also says that the coolant gets replaced every 24,800mi/40,000km. Someone should replace the online version on this website, as it is incorrect. |

It's a conversion thing. Rumor has it that the whole fueling thing that plagued the 1125r for the better part of a full year was the result of conversion/translation error. |

I got a special pair of conversion glasses that helps me with reading my service interval table. There are also some wire diagram errors in my electrical book. |
