Has anyone tried to raise the bars on an 1125 to alleviate some of the pressure on the hands/wrists? |

I'm guessing you came from either a lightning or a cruiser right? There shouldn't be much pressure on your wrists or hands. If you're using your arms to support your body, you're not doing it right. You need to learn to use the core muscles in your torso and back to support your upper body. Keeping your legs tight against the frame will help also. |

We're doing one right now. We have the CR triple clamps on an R and the riding position is excellent! We are in the process of mounting the controls and cables and the biggest obstacle will be the ignition switch/fork lock. |

Teach, Keep me posted. You can also email me at terp84alum@yahoo.com any pictures or other info that may be helpful. Badlionsfan, I'm just old but would still like a performing bike like an 1125 or one of the jap sport tours. I'm looking at an 1125 that looks like a sweet deal. |

Terp84alum I will keep you posted, but I agree with Badlions it requires a little different riding style on this type of bike. Too much pressure on the wrists means that you probably are putting too much weight on the bars, which doesn't help handling. But some of us old guys (Happy Birthday to me, I turn 60 on Sunday!) need a more comfortable riding position. Too many injuries.... too many years... |

I sold my sportster, to help fund this bike. I dont miss it at all. seems like its a pretty easy and cheap to give a little more height and bring it closer to the rider. good luck |

For me, I'm just lazy. I can ride that way, but I also like the leverage, feel, and control of the higher and wider bars. Not because I had a Lightning, but that's why I bought the Lightning in the first place! R |

We are aware of the aftermarket bars and they look good, but being a dealer, we are trying to stay with stock Buell parts, if possible. |

We (High Country H-D/Buell) are in process of swapping a Uly front onto an R. Not sure of all the details, but I got the OK to show it off. I'll post more as the project proceeds. Zack

Zack, Please keep us posted. I've been wanting to see how that would work out since about 15 minutes after the R was announced. It looks like you're using the xt front end. Would the x parts (with the heavier 47mm forks) fit also? Steve |

The "Pike's Peak" bike is in the background... it's the donor. Don't worry Neil, it's not Loretta. Z |

I will try to post pictures later this morning. I had the throttle bodies uncovered because I was seeing how the solenoid affected them.... Ouch. Girl's picture in background?? Hmn, I didn't notice. I thought we took em all down and replaced them with our fall foliage calendars... Teach |

We are done and I am very happy with the install. The riding position is Lightning-like and the next step is to adapt the new Uly bags for the ultimate sport cruiser. Thanks for all the emails! We won't have pricing until later this week! (Message edited by teach on October 29, 2008) (Message edited by teach on October 29, 2008) |

Are the new Uly bags smaller than the old? There are other options that may be a little moe pleasing to the "eye". |

Ccryder Yes, they are. But, after a few trial fittings, it will be a real challenge to get them to work and look great. We are trying to use Buell parts, but... Any suggestions?? |
