The cost to get my 1125 running after a 120+ MPH crash on the NMMP track is $299.91 not including oil. The pod and the ignition case took most of the hit. This was no simple crash and completely due to rider error. The bike high sided, slid spinning completely across the track and launched me some 100 feet down the track. The total to put it in perfect, like new condition is $598.05. Some of the cosmetic damage was very, very minor like a scratch on the front fairing ($118). Just as a point of reference: Daytona boots: $560 Shoei X11: $623 Feildsheer 1 piece leathers ~$450 The fact that I walked away with minor injuries (sprained ankles, maybe broken hand): $priceless. |

Coincidentally, I was watching a TV documentary last week that was about analyzing motorcycle crashes on the race track. One statement really rang true. ~"It's not how fast you are going when you crash but how fast you are going when you stop that matters". Luckily for me I just rolled & rolled & rolled. |

Crap I put mine down going 90 and it's more than like;y totaled! It's a mess!! I was going to say it doesn't crash well at all. Maybe the 3 barrel rolls had something to do with it. Western Reserve has it I have all the confidence in the world in them to put it back together. Glad your OK! (Message edited by hitman44139 on October 22, 2008) |

barrel rolls are never good. a slide not bad but i imagine how much force gets put through the bike doing rolls. i see it on moto races and bent forks, i imagine the steering head bearings must be messed up. then frame and swingarm. motor mounts. ouch ouch ouch. glad urs was a slide. glad ur okay. |
