i want to know how you are getting almost 150 hp out of your bike. are you measuring from the crank? i threw mine up on the dyno because i was curious about what it would put out and it was consistently putting out 120 through fourth and fifth gear roll on. i've had all the updates and reflashes. |

Jmr1283, it’s twinmotorcycles.nl (.com) is not our site (-; Daarc, it's my daily job to dyno Buell motorcycles and my work. I used a race ECM and made a new ignition and Fuel map, used a K&N filter and 500 runs to get this. It’s measured on the rear wheel and SAE corrected, here is my article on the complete project, http://www.twinmotorcycles.nl/artikelen.asp?aid=53 Slypiranna, it's truelly amazing.. (-; |

Well.. Im buying an 09 today.......... dealership wanted close to the same price as a new one for a demo. Im going for the 09 and spending a couple extra bucks. I have looked at all the Jap bikes and none seem to catch my eye like the 25...... This one is not going on the track. As long as Im paying on it at least. |

easyrider, that is honestly really impressive. do you know if the same results could be had using ecmspy? or is the race ecm really that much better? |

Daarc, until now ecm spy is not working with the buell factory race ecm. only the tool supplied with the ecm is usable. |

Easyrider, Awesome R&D! Looks like the best gains have come thru your tuning!? Based upon your experience, is it safe to say that the stock exhaust system is at best, incredibly difficult to improve upon? Has any exhaust thus far shown worth a damn from your point of view? Talking dyno numbers here, not weight/or the pretty factor. Keep up the great work, its exciting to learn from your experience! mm |

Good deal Hitman. I got to meet Teach and his service staff up at Western Reserve when the newest ecm update came out. They got me in and out in 20 minutes the day it came out, while the dealer I bought the bike from couldn't get it in til 3 days later and wanted me to drop it off. Western Reserve is where I plan to go from now on when ever possible, and now they're a BadWeb sponsor too. |

Yup for as many dealers are around, many have their flaws. Southeast has always treated me like crap. Biketown was great to buy from, service dept is a pain in the ass to deal with. Western Reserve seems to have it all together. |

Im not going to bash dealerships but the dealership I used tried to sell me a demo for a few hundred bucks less than I bought my 1st 25R. Im not the brightest bulb in the box but........ dont treat me like an idiot! I wont even buy a pencil from them. To bad I spent a lot of time and money there. The only thing is the service manager (sorry I forgot your title) was really cool and I hope this wont interfere with anything. He's cool. |

I just wanted to thank you all for your very nice comments about myself and Western-Reserve HD/Buell. We are lucky to have owners that are the very BEST! Thank you Zoli and Stacy!! I am an enthusiast and we have a sales manager who rides a Lightning, as well as one of our parts guys. I ride a 1125R and have a Uly. We love these bikes! Every time I meet one of you guys I am humbled by your knowledge and dedication to Buells. You guys are awesome! Keep watching for the date for our Buell event, we are going to open it up to all Buell riders. Jim |

easyrider, what i meant was do you think using ecmspy on the stock ecm would get the kind of results that you're getting out of the race ecm? |

Daarc, If it would be possible to use ECMSPY (which at this moment is NOT possible), yes I think you can get the same results. It's all about Timing and the amount of fuel. |

Slypiranna, Thanks for the compliment. It is safe to say that the stock exhaust system at this moment is the best. We are developing a new exhaust to see if we can beat the stock exhaust in performance, lot of testing before we can prove this, and making a smart R&D exhaust to try a lot of flow different situations but well see. The only exhaust at this moment where the numbers in the mid range where better was Saron. The problem is, that it is a filled system. When you drive a lot with the exhaust you have to refill it. Which means, when you mapped the bike, you have to make a choice refill it, or map it again, because it is going to run leaner after the mileage go up. We keep on trying.. |

I would say ECMSpy does not "fully support" the 1125R; it will read and write the eeprom HEX data for you. It can be used with an additional method to translate the HEX data into a decimal format you can work with. |

Should I take this as a hint that setting up my old PocketPC with ECMSpy is a good idea as precursor to a new bike project? More info please!! I would like to make it to the Western Reserve gathering (about 2 hours from me), but may have to work that weekend. If you are saving the "unveiling" for that event, can we perhaps persuade a subsequent BadWeb e-tutorial? |

what's more important, motorcycles or some crummy job? I totally agree, and soooo wish it were that easy. Sadly, it would be hard to find a comparable job without relocation. Maybe I can make up a funeral or something?

The "crummy" job... That helps pay for this motorcycle and it's involvement. Great post Ponti1. They'll be a beautiful young woman there taking notes to forward to you tho! mm! (Message edited by slypiranna on October 21, 2008) |

Maybe I can make up a funeral or something? EXACTLY! What kinda boss doesn't appreciate some creativity or "outside the box" thinking? I wasn't implying that you have a crummy job, it's just that all jobs are crummy when it comes between a man and learning more about his motorcycle. |

I wasn't implying that you have a crummy job, it's just that all jobs are crummy when it comes between a man and learning more about his motorcycle. LOL...No worries about offending me. I'm just here to learn and get some occasional entertainment from the mini battles that happen here from time to time. I've got thick enough skin that it's hard to do any more damage than a paper cut. They'll be a beautiful young woman there taking notes to forward to you tho! Keep talking...You're getting closer to convincing me. What will she be wearing? |
