I'm heading to the dealer Saturday morning to look into possibly trading in my XB for the CR . Just curious as to what you guys think and if you would make the trade ? Just a little info I own the XB and would be financing the CR ! | ||

Sit on one or demo one before you buy. Biiiig difference between an S and the Cr in riding position. | ||

The stock handlebars give a more-radical riding position than the 1125R. The accessory handlebars (with cables and hoses) available from Buell would make the CR much closer to an XB--S. (Message edited by hughlysses on October 16, 2008) | ||

You may be better off selling the Xb then buying the CR. Dealerships never give what the bike is worth, they wouldn't make any money on the deal if they did. | ||

Yeah I was thinking on doing that, selling it on my own . I rode the CR and it's nice , just not sure if I want to get back into a payment again . That's my biggest thing ! | ||

Check out the 1125 superbike board on this site.You can read what other 1125 owners are talking about.Lots of good and bad. Remember most importantly that the 1125 motor is NOT a USA product.It is NOT made in the USA.It is more powerful though.Whether or not it is more dependable has yet to be seen. I traded my XB for a CR. Haven't looked back. The engine may not be USA made, but the frame is, which can't be said for your XB. They're all global bikes. | ||

Well I guess Mark(Xl1200r) really told me.  Like I said though read the 1125 superbike board and THEN draw your own conclusion.I'm gonna stick with my AMERICAN twin XB12. | ||

Well I went and did it , I traded my XB for a red cr . Only thing is I got to wait for it to come in . It's been ordered . I'm siked it's a awesome lookin ride .  | ||

Patriotism is a wonderful thing. You have just ridden a Buell. You do not know where it is made. You love it and cannot wait to buy it! Just before you sign the ownership papers they tell you its...............NOT AMERICAN MADE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The question is.......do you still get it? This requires an honest and thought out response. Bombardier - no, I would not buy a Buell that did not come out of Wisconsin, but that is just me. In any case I would know where it was made (ok, assembled to some.....) before I even looked to buy it. I bought my XB9R because it is made in the USA and is the type of bike that only the US could make. World class handling with an old tech etched in history engine makes sense to me. Maybe that is why I also like Guzzis. There will come a time when you will have the choice to buy an offshore produced Harley - but I would not buy one regardless of the $$ savings (like that would happen). Triumph has recently stated that bike production, I am not sure what models or the qty, will be produced offshore. Pass. They have now become just another bike maker. I have nothing against ferrin' made bikes, and have a certain passion for those from Italy. But riding for most of us in the US is just that, a passion and not really needed. I have to have a car, and that is why I have a Hyundai Elantra. Boring, but inexpensive and stone reliable. And I knew where it was from before I bought it, actually have two. BUT....I also knew that they have a US based factory in the South that employs Americans and that means something to me. I guess one could say that a V6 Sonata is more of a US car than the new Camaro or Challenger. This global economy thing can make one go nuts if you really sit and think about it. Not too much is made 100% here - we do still have a hell of a firearms industry by the way - but there are not too many cars sold here with so-call foreign nameplates that are 100% made in their respective countries. I recently looked at a 2008 VW Rabbit - engine made in Mexico, trans in Japan and the rest of the car assembled in Germany. Nuts. |
