I have a 2003 9r for sale. It has the race kit with a drummer exhaust. It has a blue bolt front end but a polished aluminum lightning rear end with a lightning low seat. The transmission is shot. I have 1st and 2nd gear only. I would like to sell the bike complete to someone but would consider parting out as a last resort. I'll take 1500.00 or best offer for the way it sits right now. I just talked to chasespeed, they won't fit. But, regardless, I am still interested...... I wouldn't part it out yet. If I don't buy it, there are 3 other people I know that are trying to get their ol' ladies' permissions. | ||

What's the top speed in 2nd gear? It's got to be at least 60 right? 3rd, 4th and 5th are overrated imo, 1st and 2nd is where it's at! Bike looks good with the lightning rear by the way. | ||

tranny is cheap; it's getting in there that'll cost ya. If I were in your position, I would part out the motor and look for a good deal on eBay for another XB motor. Much more cost effective than fixing yours. I've seen 9's go for $1000 and 12's go for $1500-2000. Some are more than others, but in general they don't bring as much as the tuber counterparts. You could easily get $6-800 off the working parts from your motor. Heads, cyls, oil pump, cams, cases, etc. Get the idea? | ||

Thanks for the interest everyone. I really do not want to part this thing out as someone could get a fairly nice bike the way it sets. I am currently in negotiations with De50man and if all goes well I will be delivering it to him soon. Phelan, you are right about getting to the gears. It was for sell before this happened so I don't want to sink $2500-$3500 in repairs just to sell it. I will try to keep everyone posted on the sell but right now the ball is in De50man's court. | ||
