The date for SPLASH 2002 was based on the schedule for Laguna Seca (in spite of my strenuous objections) Us Canucks'll ride anytime. Just pick a date so I can get it scheduled. Speaking of dates, will there be a Donner and when would it likely be? |

Ha Ha LOL! I was actually pleading with mike to not make me run after the truck every time I would get back in it! Kim, Iron Man sounds better, Mental man should be instead of Metal man but Dumb ass Iron worker's been working for a while. I wonder if there is any records concerning this type of motor driven vehicle?I've got a hankerin to fab one of the dealywackers! Mike, we need to get our poop together on our record attempt next year! We will be looking into getting shirts done for the N/W F.O.G.G. at the next meeting. Attendance would be "Groovy Baby" Excuses will not be tolerated and a good sound thrashing about the head and ears will follow such an action!!! More to come, In The Rain Forest, Bob |

Thanks to Mike and Chris and Loni for showing me the Trout Lake SPLASH route I missed last year when y'all left me in the dust and I ended up riding all day Saturday alone. It was great to have 9 bikes riding the route in the cool fall air with the yellow aspens quaking. SPUDMAN is back in the world of the living. We nodded at the spot where your bike hashed out in the last SPLASH. Fix that friggin Snap Crackle and Pop exhaust leak though or that thing is gonna hash again. You only had one decent wheelie, as you left the group to meet up with your family. Chris, you shuda brought your GPS and just downloaded what we ran into your MAC. OOPS, we forgot to bring the GPS. By the way, for you folks that have a preference for Triumphs, there's a 99 with 2500 miles on it at Destination, a trade in and they don't know what to do with it. One of those "D" models like Mike has. Babyshit yellow. Not even broke in yet. They have a $7K tag on it, but want it off the show room floor. Roc, is it true you got married? Those are the rumors man. Say it aint so. |

Yo Shotgun, It be fixed now. The rear header was misaligned and the retaining clip had concaved itself causing the header to slip out the flange. That little leak I had at the start turned nasty before arriving home. Made it home in plenty of time to be a good dad, but left the bike at home and drove to Corvalis. Sunday morning was dedicated to fixing the problem (yes, the Seahawks suck). Removed the entire exhaust system to line things up. Put the retaining clip into the vise and squeezed it back into shape. Lined up the header, put the clips in the flanges and bolted things together. Took my time and made sure everything was aligned. Ran a quick shake down over the hill at Newberg and everything be buelltiful now. Great to have the machine back on the road. Bob on the TL? was doing plenty of wheelies for everyone. I didn’t think anyone would notice that little ol’wheelie when I left, just couldn’t resist. The return route took me thru 10 miles of gravel roads then 15 miles of single lane fun before hitting Carson. Sorry I had to leave early, but probably the best thing for the bike anyhow. Things are all better now, just running out of warm dry weather to play in. |

Last Monday I offered 20 bonus points for the the guy (or guyette) who had the highest milage for the next five days. Sounds like Brandon thinks he's the one. Well beat this, sucka: 3745 miles as of Friday night 3530 miles on that Monday morning ------ 215 miles in that five day period |

Oh, BTW, Lyle installed a pair of Two Brothers Racing clip-on handle bars on his 2002 Triumph Speed Triple. I haven't seen them yet but he said they're way more aggressive than stock bars but not quite like stock Daytona clip-ons. I'll post pictures a little later |

I've seen 'em. I orde 'um. They be cool. The stock bars compaired to the clip-ons Believe it or not, only this much differance makes a WORLD of differance in the way the bike rides. And all for the better! Expencive little buggers, but really neat. \image{this much differance} |

OK, here's the deal... I tried to post some pictures while my wife was nagging me to hurry up and go out for Chinese food, yada, yada, yada. You get the idea. So here’s the pictures of Lyle’s new handle bars: As I said above, the TBR Clip-Ons are expensive($350) but are really cool. They change the way the bike feels and I really like the new feel. They can slide up and down on the fork tubes and rotate on two planes so they can be tweaked to suit just about everybody. Money well spent I think. Especially because it wasn't my money. |

Ray, I didn't check my odometer when I left Saturday morning to run the SPLASH route so I think I'm under estimating a little. According to my Microsoft Streets and Trips program I went 504 miles....in one day! Now...WHO'S YOUR DADDY!!!! I'll be pickin up my 20 bonus points at the Swiss Tuesday. Steve |
