Dealer finally called me and said it had come in. Grabbed my backpack and headed out on the 45 mile trip. Swap the seats in the parking lot, put the stock seat in the backpack and headed home. what a difference! Way more comfortable, and noticeably taller. You guys that want a little more leg room should give the select seat a shot, your butt and knees will thank you. | ||

You guys that want a little more leg room should give the select seat a shot, your butt and knees will thank you. I like that idea, however i also like being somewhat close to the ground...it's nice being able to get most of both feet on the ground for the first tiime. | ||

It was different not being able to flat foot, but I got used to it pretty quickly. On my Cityx, I got used to the right foot down, left foot on the peg technique--but it was often tough (and sometimes embarrassing) backing the bike up in close quarters. | ||

I did it just the opposite on my CityX, and still do most of the time at a light. Right foot on the peg pushing the rear brake, sometime tapping if someone seems to be coming up on me fast in the mirror, left foot on the ground. | ||

I know what u mean being 5'6 im on my balls of my feet and i really cant back it up if theres even a slight incline. so before i saddle up i just move it standing next to it. but if im driving it i just put my left foot down. i always try to keep my right for ready on the rear brake. i figure is a good habit. probably my only one. lol | ||

OK, chaps, how about a link, then, to the Select seat for the 1125? I'm not vertically challenged like some  so I'm open to a higher seat. | ||

I strongly recommend this seat! Had one on my Firebolt, had a new one sitting on the bench last December when Loretta's delivery truck arrived. 13,000+ miles on it, it works. Z | ||

What is the difference between the stock seat and the select seat? More padding? Gel inserts? I would maybe consider a more comfortable seat, though I don't really dislike the stock one. What I wouldn't want is something that is too soft. Like gel, for example, I would think provides too much play while shifting weight. | ||

No gel that I'm aware of, just firm foam. I'm 5'10" and 160# wet in gear, my bony-arse is much happier. I'm not doing track-days or riding as extreme as some, this seat works well for me. The stock seat is on the garage wall, but I rode it a couple of times. Not as bad as the OEM Firebolt seat but still not something I'd want to sit on more than an hour. I never focused on the height difference, but I'm sure it plays a part in the comfort too. I also run Uly pegs for the fat platform and an inch lower. Z | ||

I highly recommend the firebolt seat also. It made my trip home from Cali much more enjoyable for my skinny A$$. Plus the additional height made for a better ride also. Being 6'4 I'll take all i can get when on a long ride. Here is a pic with the seat installed. I don't think there is any gel in it, but the foam is much more dense not to mention there is more of it there. I didn't have any installation issues. I have kept the stock seat for when I finally get to the track with it.    | ||

Sruzhyo, Correct. For me it doesn't provide the same performance as the stocker. And that's just a function of the shape not being as contoured. But i guess that depends on where you sit yourself on the seat while cornering. I suppose if I adjusted my riding style to hug the tank more then the performance would be very close. |
