on my front break i'll have to pull it in about half way before i get any real breaking power. is it supposed to be like this on the 1125r's? on every other bike i've ridden i usually feel the brakes engage immediately. is there something i can do to fix it so i don't have to pull the brake lever in half way just to get some breaking? |

Try bleeding air from it. Sounds like there might be some in the system. |

mine did for about 20 minutes during one ride one day a while ago. when i stopped and got off my bike, i noticed my front rotor had picked up and sucked in a plastic grocery bag from the road. i pulled the majority that was flapping, and then rode the front brake hard for a couple times to cook the rest of the plastic off and it was gone. |

Mine was that way and I think it may have had some air in the system. All I did was compress all the pistons on the front caliper and it pushed all the air out. Feels better now. |

No squishy feeling here, but the last week or so I've been having a feeling like the rotor may be warped of something. Using front brake from any speed gives the repeated "grab and release" feeling. |

I can recommend Trojan's wave rotor. I added EBC HH pads - handle is firm, no pulsing. Don't use more than two fingers unless you want to raise the rear wheel. Jack |

no squishy ... just pulsing. It appears the rotor is warped. I did the recommended break-in at new (<200 miles) and had no problems. The pulsing came later. I tried the Scotchbrite which only temporarily eased the pulsing. Short of an actual mechanical issue, is some of the brake issue maybe just a Buell-ism. The brakes react much differently than I am used to. This is my first bike with the fancy smancy rotor. My other experience has only been with the "standard" dual rotor brake systems. Don't know...just noodling.

thanks, i'll check to see if there is any air in the line. i don't think there is a garbage bag in my brake, i looked =). my xb12s didn't have any dead spots on the break so i don't think the 1125r is supposed to have one either. thanks yall. |

I believe its the stock pads. They seem to leave a build up on the rotor of crud. Makes the brake start to pulse, same as on my xb. I am running the race pads and have also switched to a radial master. I like this setup alot better. Try american sport bike for some lydall(sp) pads. |
