>>>>S&S's 191 mph run with an unfaired bike doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I was WRONG. It had a fairing...... Now...I really gotta go Oh and Frank, by the way, when you are here, we gotta talk man. Anybody ever tell you not to post your NYC hotel on the internet?...geeesh....maybe Henrik and I will just mug you ourselves and be done with it. Anyway, plan on dinner with Henrik and I Tuesday night...man have we got a lot to teach you ! Court |

Way to 'Effing go Team Elves, and Team Choptop. It's a nice change from the Buell polls we've been reading lately, and all it took was a 203 blast down the salt. Let's hope the S&S guys get some suger in their gas tank. (lucky i ain't there, those sneaky bastards would have a hell of a time dealing with all sorts of rude comments from me..) |

Need some advice. Just finished talking to the insurance agent about my '01 stolen/wrecked X1. According to him, this one year old bike is currently worth $6.8k, the total repair bill is $8k. How is this possible ? Roderick |

Unfortunately not Blake, several HD's have broken the 200 mph barrier, it's even been done at Maxton. (211 mph) I think Aaron's bike is the first one with a pushrod motor under 2000cc to break 200 mph "Team Elves was the first ever to break the 200 MPH record barrier on a pushrod unstreamlined motorcycle" |

Xfudog/Rod, Unfortunately, your insurance agent is doing his job. His job is to get you to settle for as little as possible. You might mention the words "my attorney disagrees with your estimate" and see what he comes back with. If totalled, don't they have to pay you for tax, title, and license too? |

Jss, Okay, thanks for the clarification, under 2000cc's. Will a 2000cc engine even fit into a stock Harley/Buell frame? |

Sounds like the Democrat party has taken over the SCTA - rules (laws) we don't need no stinkin rules. |

Jssport, you are correct, it is the first, and so far only, HD style motor (more correctly it is the first pushrod production motor, you could run in this class with a Guzzi motor, an old triumph a BMW etc.) to break 200 mph. It is a signifcant record in that many people have tried over the years to go 200 mph in this class and have failed. Dave |

Rocket, I feel like crap! You and Jilles and Bob and I have failed the team when we are most needed. If we were worth a grain of Salt, we would all be out there right now, preparing to keep that bunch of S&S Sods up all night. By tomorrow morning, their minds would Not be on the business at hand, they would fail miserably, and they would have been repaid in spades. (And Henrik would encourage us visit him, sleeping all day and staying up all night – for as long as he could fend off his landlord and the neighbors.) But, alas, our moment of glory has passed us by, and all that’s left is for us to cheer Go Team Go! Capt. Pete |

Sorry again, All the 200 mph runs have been set in the 2000 cc class, Aaron's is the first to do it in the 1650cc class. "for the clarification, under 2000cc's" |

The S&S contingent is Brian Perkins. He designed the new fuel injection system for S&S. The one that he is running on the bike right now is a one-off system. It is one throttle body per cylinder. Fortunately, he was not running in Aaron's class(Fuel). Unfortunately, he WAS running in FMJ's class. Suspicion dictates that he will try to take the fuel class, that belongs to Team Elves, tomorrow. Aaron is loading for bear, just in case. Regardless of the outcome, Team Elves did the job that they were destined for and did it well and with class. Richard is sporting a cool new hat and Aaron can be most proud of the incredible feat he has accomplished. I, for one, will be proud, no matter what happens, to be associated with this big group of heartful, hooligans. But in my heart of hearts.....I'm thinkin' Aaron and Richard are going to KICK SOME RIGHTEOUS ASS!!! |

Blake, This guy didn't even looked at the bike, still down at the shop, he had another assessment company who called the local dealer and another one out of state to come up with 6.8k, he also said that this was based on fair market value estimate from dealers as well as private sellers. NADA high is 8.2k for good condition, which is mine. Plus I had the race kit installed, something he didn't know about. In fact, this claims assessor (SF) don't know anything about my case. I gave them a copy of the repair estimate. I'm wondering where/how did he came up with this figure from private sellers. Seems like stock '00 or even '99 X1s is selling for that on Ebay. Roderick |

I want to take a moment to tell each and every person involved with Team Elves how proud I am of you. Without boo-hooing too much, this past year has pretty much sucked for me - divorce that left me with my Buells and my dog, played out like a country song, lost my house, car, etc., but I walked away from all of it because I wasn't happy. I'm happy right now. In fact I'm freakin' ecstatic and literally jumped up and down when I saw Pammy post the 203!!! You are all without a doubt some of the finest, most dedicated, smartest people I have ever had the pleasure to meet, and I hope to do it all again next year on the salt. Maybe with a bike of my own? Time will tell. Okay, the hokey tear-jerker stuff is over. Go kick some freakin' ass, you hooligans. Ride it like you 'effin stole it, and when they pick their jaws up off the salt, they can hang their heads and go home, mumbling the mantra of Cubs fans the world over, "there's always next year". Only there ain't gonna be a next year, 'cause next year Wes'll design it, Aaron'll build it, Richard'll ride it, and Court'll BS it, and back to the drawing board goes everybody else. |

Everyone, I just want to say again that while Brian Perkins does work for S&S, this is not an S&S backed bike. Brian and his family and friends have done an amazing job, but again Brain doesn't have a big company behind him. He is just a guy who loves to go fast and has the know how to do it. This is getting interesting... Jeff Bailey |

So Pammy, would it be fair to say that Brian Perkins is a 'fuel' guy, and Wes is a head' guy ? If so, I'd take the head guy in this scenario. I've seen Aaron's 'drip' and as far as I can tell, Aaron's got it well sorted. Their big difference would be in the separate throttle bodies, I'd assume, but still, they don't have Wes or Richard, nor me come to that, haha, and my money's on OUR TEAM Rocket |

S&S is about to find out what it's like to come up against a HardDrive Rancher, a Crawfish Peddler, and PAMMY'S OLD MAN. Punt em off the salt Team Elves! Tell the truth I was glad it appeared to be over and everyone was safe. This TwinTon stuff is scary territory to be playing in. Be safe my friends. |

And far off in the distance.......well beyond the Wasatch Mountains......came a sound......at first it was faint......but soon it was reconizable as the sound of CHEERING ELVES.....having just laid all challengers to rest with a speed (quoting my dear friend Mr. Buell "no way" as he about spewed his dinner) that shall live in Buell History ! Details will follow..... |
