I did a cursory search for sissy bars on the 1125 board; and I know it's an odd quest for a superbike owner; but I've a very pretty girl passenger (almost called her a 'pillion', which is what we call motorbike passengers here in Oz) who wants something more to hold her onto the the bike besides her 27 y/o slim blonde arms around my middle. Ideas? Solutions? Will I have to invent one myself? She's worth it.

P.S. the Board's spell checker flagged "blonde" as a possible misspelling; but "blond" is a male and "blonde" is a female. I know, I know, too much time spent at Uni.

Here in the US if you don't mind getting slapped you can just use 'bloke' and 'broad'.

: )

Does Corbin make a seat with a removable backrest for the Firebolt? If they do, that'll work on the 1125R as well.

Just checked... no such luck.

I hear ya Red, my wife won't get on the Buell.

Cool by me as long as she's at the door with a smile when I get home.

Ventura makes something that might work for you.

Has 3 options, sport rack, full rack or just a grab rail.

Check out a product called "Buddy Belt" that the driver wears like a belt, and it has handles on it for the passenger to hold on to. It can also be attached to the passenger ( a child) via a lanyard and second belt for security of the passenger.

Well done, D-Adams, I believe I can make the Ventura system work for my situation. And Ventura has a significant presence here in Oz, too. Cheers!

Do a search, I think in the KV section. There was someone who made a backrest for a Firebolt for his wife/girlfriend that came out pretty sweet.

Found it...

I'm impressed, Damnut, with your research. I've sent along a PM to the chap in the link, asking if he'd make up JUST THE METAL BRACKET and I'd supply the Corbin backrest. I've a very pretty girl who won't ride with me until I take care of this, so I advised him that money is no object (despite the crap exchange rate now). Cheers!

What is the point of a backrest on a sportbike? If your passanger is leaned back far enough to actually have their back on it, then they're sitting upright and not tucked in with your body, which makes for a sloppy riding buddy.

You could always try my solution...

We got My lovely blonde bride her own 1125R..

Only one problem (if you can call it that)... Well 2 problems... boobs... butt... her standing up with her butt in the air while riding to rest her legs causes traffic problems on Rt 66... and well... the big boobs cause problems the rest of the time...

Do you know anyone who needs a pair of xb12... we have a spare xb12r and a xb12scg for sale...

got 2 1125R's @ Hd Washington for $9000 each!!

Sure wish i could keep them both out of the shop long enough to take them both on a ride...

I'd be jealous, 2yldbuells, of your being married to boobs and a butt that cause traffic problems; but my pretty blonde is a "spare" -- I'm married to a brunette!

My bike is marked "my other toys have tits", and surprisingly, it's the girls who get a kick out of it.

Good on ya, windward, I got your PM and I'm looking forward to hearing from you again.

They cleared them out quick at that price. Especially when ya'll buy multiples. I emailed a couple months ago when it was mentioned they still had one but got no reply.

Maybe someone could raid the parts bins from the prehistoric models.

I received the backrest mount from Loren (gowindward). He's done it well, he's done it quickly. Now if bloody BMC will just get my 09 1125R delivered to OZ so I can actually mount the bracket, I'll make a pretty blonde very excited (and she'll do the same for me, I'm sure).

I'm sure I'll remember to post pics when the setup is mounted. Maybe the girl will consent to be in the pic, too!
