First off, it was great meeting and riding with those who made Buelltoberfest in Suches. On the way there I rode a lot of interstate and got 48 mpg at 75 mph. I was pretty happy with that considering I had all the Buell bags plus camping gear strapped on. On the way home I rode up to Nashville on mostly back roads. The next morning I fired up the Uly and my check engine light came on. I had oil pressure and it ran fine so I just hit the interstate and cruised at 75 again. I had to fill the tank shortly after leaving Nashville and this tank got me to Mount Vernon, Illinois. That was 175 miles and my fuel light was not on yet. I filled up and calculated 52 mpg. I rode on home and whipped out the laptop and found a Muffler valve actuator failure. The dealer just replaced it before I left. Now I had been riding with ear plugs in, so when I fired up the bike I immediately knew it failed open. Man that sounded good! I didn't notice any problems with low speed riding but my AFV was 115. I'll have the dealer fix it so my light will go out but then I might just lock it open, I mean 3 more MPG is worth it! tootal |

I agree is this an 06, 07, or 08? I have not yet done the treadmarks tweak for idle so I might have to do a bit more if this works out for you. |
