thanks to this board i was quite convinced the 1125r was for me, and it's awesome. thanks for all of the great contribution guys! i made sure the recalls were taken care of and the ecm was updated as it is an 08 (missed the only 09 on the island by a week) so i'm good to go. even with the new vent location it was dripping a small amount of gas out from beneath the passenger peg -ambient temp was 91 and CT was around 215 when i parked it. no biggie. the speedo was intermittently displaying zero which is odd. anyone else have this issue on the new flash? the odo was still getting mileage it seems. something to keep an eye on before the 1st service interval. the initial throttle response after shifting seems modulated as well -is this the solenoid doing its thing? very strange feeling. small issues to resolve on an otherwise perfect package! |

Welcome, I used to live over there on castle grey skull (Schofield Barracks). Does Kenji still work down at the dealership? Congrats on the 1125R... Aloha, Nick |

Congrats! Is this the first one to be sold in Hawaii? Cool. Intermittent zero on speedometer. Could be a low battery. In the setup procedure and especially doing the ECM flash, the ignition is on a lot and may have drained the battery. Put it on a charger and see if that does not cure the problem. Coolant temps will go lower once the bike breaks in. I live in LA and I can for the most part count on CT being AT+100 give or take.By AT, I mean the Weather channel Actual Temperature, not the wildly changing AT on the ODIS since it is influenced by the speed you ride. Have fun! |

i think it's the second or third to be sold in hawaii. heads are turning though -just, i think, for the sheer outlandishness of how this bike looks and sounds. ill give battery charging a shot, though there hasn't been a low-voltage warning. incorrectly i thought the odo was still registering but that isnt the case. where is the speedo sensor on this bike? thanks! |

Man you have island fever already??? The shop is only 15 minutes from you, take it there, I know it's a pain, but heck, it's under warranty... I still miss the island though, Saturday island circle rides were a lot of fun... As for battery, get a battery tender plus, it will become your best friend... I'm a Kailua boy, myself. Mahalo! Now I live on the Big Island (Australia, largest island in the world)! Cheers (what a difference a hemisphere makes). |

I forgot about the traffic and the speed cameras, do they still use them? or is it back to one radar gun and 10 or so leo's in line on hogs? Kenji used to work in parts upstairs, and Alan was the service manager, if he is still there "a twelve of imported beer goes a long way" he is a great SM... V/R, Nick |

I had my speedo showing zero off and on while riding and ended up replacing my speedo sensor. Your issue could also be a loose connection from the speedo sensor. |

Jedjipunk -that's what im thinking. is the speedo sensor still off of the front wheel on this thing? Nxtr Havent seen a speed camera here yet, and the coppers are sporting bmw's these days. |

Fresno, you're right of course, and Wikipedia agrees (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Island_country). On the other hand, the total population here is so small (equal to that of New York state) and so concentrated on the East Coast, and we're so isolated from the rest of world, that it's easy to think of Australia as an island. It's also a play on words: the Big Island (the island of Hawaii itself) and the BIG Island (Australia), which was the real point / joke of my original post. Wouldn't have made sense to a haole, anyway! |

Good to hear about the cameras, they were testing it while I was there, not well received... I saw one of the test Beemers down at the HD shop. I figure with all the revenue they raised during the camera test, they ditched the Hogs in favor of the Beemers... There is a really good hole in the wall burger joint up on the north shore (cant remember the name)... What service??? Have fun... V/R, Nick |
