I know it has been gone over before but since I never had it happen I did not pay attention. Customer called, his M-2 has a "jump" leaving in first like it skips or jumps a tooth. Belt looks good, shifter adjusted etc. What else to look for? |

My x1 was doing this but it was my error not shifting it fully, Also clutch was not adj correctly. I hope its not tranny related. It sounds like it is something worn or a pin backing out of a shift drum! I dont know too much about this model as i run an 01 x1 |

Somebody on this site once was having a similar issue an it came to something about "worn dogs" on the gears, but since I've never been inside the tranny I don't really know. See if you can bump Chasespeed or Jos51700. |

So, is it jumping like it skips a tooth, but stays in gear, or is jumping out of gear? |

Had this jumping out of low gear problem ... My fix was low gear shifter fork and low gear replacement ... |

Sounds like it is the skipping tooth not out of gear. |

Belt not too loose? Front pulley spun teeth on shaft? Joe |

My bike jumps a bit when I get on the gas, engine just warmed up. The clutch sticks then the bike kind of pops or jumps when it fully engages. Does that sound like his issue? Seems like Djkaplan had to replace a first and second gear a while back. I'll see if I can find some posts referring to it. Maybe he can help with info there... -Mike |

There was a thread here a while back that described a similar issue, and I have no more to offer now than I did then. |

LB,sounds like that, I asked about front pulley myself and belt. I remember several threads but could not find em. |

I had a Dunlop D220 feel the same way after it delaminated a big long strip down the center. But that was after I fixed my worn Dogs. Aaron had some great threads about it deep in the archives, and I posted some pictures as well. |

Mine would clunk like the freaking motor was gonna fall out... it kicked back bad when it was under a load. |

"Mine would do that in third... it was worn dogs.. replaced the gears and all was well..." I did the same, shift forks, too. |

mine is doing that... the syncros arent fully engaging but finally do engage when put under load. I've been told this by an expirienced buell tech that hasn't steered me wrong yet, too bad i forgot to ask how to fix it. |

Missed shifts and crammed gears. |

It's very embarrassing to find out that your Buell dosen't speed shift like your other bikes would(especially when your friends are watching or running with you)and you miss a gear and zing it to the limiter. I have learned this and now shift more deliberately. |

Yup, happens to me going from 1st to 2nd, but I was actually using the clutch but it just didn't engage to 2nd at all. Hit rev limiter. But I do that a lot anyways, hence blown gaskets and shit on my bike. |

I went reverse shift pattern and don't miss gears anymore... |
