So I go to pull my 12R out of the storage room and notice a dark leak of some sort on the concrete, I pulled it out into the light and it looks like its leaking down the front of the front cylinder, but I cant really get any kind of idea of where its originating from. It didnt have any sort of smell that I could notice. Anybody know what this could be and how much of a hassle it might be to fix?

Pull the air box cover and filter off, then check the breather hose at the top of the cylinder. They can pop out sometimes and leak down the cylinder.

I would wash the bike really good. Then start her up and run it. Watch for the leak and try to see where it is coming from.

fling a little flour in there, and watch for the "fresh" leakage

so i dropped my bike off at the dealer in Hammond, LA yesterday and w/in 30 mins of my leaving they called and said it was the orings in the pushrod or something along those lines(forgive my lack of mechanical terminology) and then called me today and said it was ready! sweet! so much better than my last experience w/ the jackson, ms dealer where i had to wait a week for them to even look at my bike, and then 4 more weeks for the shop manager to hang up on me when i called to ask about it...and then wind up fixing it myself that time. so Hammond, LA hd/buell rocks!!!

I spend my winters not far from Hammond and planned on checking them out this winter. It's good to hear about the good dealers too!!

The guys at the service desk seemed pretty cool. My favorite in the area though is Mike Bruno's Bayou Country in Houma, LA though. They all seemed to know what they were talkin about, not to mention several of the employees ride buells so I didnt notice any of that "buells suck" animosity like you normally experience in a HD shop. Not to mention all the employees are extremely cool! They also had one of the largest selections of bikes i've ever seen in the south, hammond had several extremely nice bikes but not nearly as many. I'm going to pick up my 12r friday and i'll check out more of the hammond shop then, but from the service department it looked like a nice shop i didnt really have a chance to do much looking around cuz i had to drive a couple hours back home so i could make it to class.
