Pyrateryderzmc Posted on Wednesday, October 01, 2008 - 05:15 pm: On my last left turn signal failure, I called the factory and they gave me a case number. They told me that they have not experienced nor have any knowledge of any turn signal failures for the 1125r. I think the word earlier in this thread was it's only one in 10,000 that have this issue. So I would guess they have sold about 700,000 1125's so far? WOO HOO! |

3656 / No / Yes / Latus HD-B, Portland, OR A few days ago someone posted that his dealer thought it might be related to a loose ground. I suspect that's the case with mine, as if I pop off the pillion pad and jiggle the wires going to the left blinker it will work normally for a short while. |

0340/yes/no/F&S Hd Buell, Dayon, Ohio I replaced both rear signals with aftermarket. I don't want to be somewhere far from home and have one of them go out. Signals are a safety item in my opinion. |

UPDATE: If you have had this condition, with the failed L.E.D. turn signals on a Buell 1125R, see your Buell dealer for prompt resolution. If your dealer has any questions have them call S.P.O.C. Court or anyone else aware of the fix, is the resolution something that can be addressed without a trip to the dealer? I am 100 miles away, and would just as soon correct it myself if it's not a major undertaking... |

I'm wondering the same Ponti1. I've seen the threads about it on here but have just cruised by them a number of times. Has anyone started to troubleshoot and narrow down the turn sig dealio to see if it's the signals or in the bike somewhere? I'm wondering if I'm going to have the same prob develop. |

bike at dealer, dont know vin VIN is on your sales paperwork. Don't post it here for the public to see, instead put it in your profile so that it is hidden from view. |

Excuse the newbie question please. I'm considerring a 1125 as my next bike. Are electrical grimlins like this common for the bike? I have a buddy who swears by his 1125, but he's never mentioned any issues. TIA |

Yeah. It is safe to say that the turnsignals have been an issue. However, Buell has been working on it. They have resolved all issues as they cropped up on the 1125R already. I would buy one in full confidence, if I were you. Since I am me, I can state that the 12K miles I have put on mine since Christmas have been an awesome owner experience! |

I agree that the 1125R is a great bike. I've throughly enjoyed the 13,204 miles I've put on it thus far. All issues I've had have been resolved. The only real problem that kept me from riding was the battery draining and I haven't had that trouble since the 1st ECU update. I did recently buy a Battery Tender Jr. just in case. It fits nicely in the storage compartment under the rear seat. I have NOT had my turn signals die (yet, knocking on my blockhead now). |

Finally I have someone i can talk to.. We have 4 Buell's 2 2008 1125R's (617/703) 1 2005 XB12R 1 XB12Scg 617 yes yes Whitt's service / HD Wash sales 703 yes yes Whitt's service / HD Wash sales 617 fuel pump 703 Speedo reads 0mph intermittent Whitt's owner says "...they have never heard of any problems at all on any 1125R EVER... besides the recalls.. Except for yours"(ours)- Blames me!! Both Right Turn signals went out about a week apart.. 2 wks for appointment.. while waiting for appointment the fuel pump conked on 617 (Fuel light was on all the time and odometer says i have been riding 350 miles on reserve <grin> Dropped both 1125's off at the same time... They took the good light off of 617 and put it on 703 so We could have one to ride.. Picked up 703 next day When we picked up 617 3-4 weeks later, it had a new fuel pump and 2 new turn signals....the speedo on 703 was pretty consistently reading 0mph and needed the VA inspection... So we traded... 2 wks later... They can't get 703's speedo to duplicate the failure... Showed then pictures I had taken while riding (Not safe..Yes I know) The Factory Harley Rep (Lori?) test rode it for an hour with no issues.. told me to come pick it up and that they had done the new fuel injection flash... Asked me to bring it back when it HARD FAILS so they would know what was broken... Good timing I guess because now 617's new Left turn signal had failed so I went to trade again... Besides it never got inspected when new..... Rode off on 703 today and the L turn signal was dead.... Returned immediately to dealer who accused me of breaking it during my 5 minute ride... "We wouldn't have passed it's inspection if the tail light wasn't working" (Mr Davidson - Owner Whitt's HD in Manassas) I said.. "Well regardless of when where how... WE need to find out why they are breaking..." He fiddled with the wiring and couldn't get it to work (service techs are off on Mondays) Won't Start... In the 10-15 minutes we have been looking at the turn signal it has killed the battery (The battery died one other time which i thought must have been operator error however i have been riding over 20 years at this point )... He said the obvious " Well there is something else wrong here... Can you leave it and ride the bike we just checked in home and come back tomorrow".... Sure..... Summary... 617 both rear turn signals Fuel pump Runs HOT 703 Both Rear Turn Signals Intermittent Speedo Battery BTW both bikes used to run consistently 105 120 degrees over ambient air... After flash 703 ran 96-97 degrees over ambient... much smoother, quieter and seemed stronger (less sewing machine cam chain sounds it seemed) |
