I have an 08 XB12R and I found a race kit(exhaust, filter, race ecm straight from Buell). Question is will everything work with an '08 or would it be a waste of an investment?

Make sure the race ecm is for DDFI-3 (Buell's new fuel injection for '08+ bikes).
Buell changed the ecm and fuel injection starting in 2008.
A DDFI-2 race ecm won't work on your bike.

Ecms for 03-07 models will not work with 08-09 Models. The air cleaner will drop right in and the pipe will bolt right on.

I appreciate the info guys, I will let this one pass by then, not worth spending $600 if there's complications.

Buy it anyway! The price alone is almost worth it for just the race pipe, since they are no longer available. Sell the ECM and buy one for your 08 seperately.
