And? Model year bikes begin production in June or July I believe. I have an 06 manufactured in September of 05. It's normal. You can buy brand new 09 model bikes and cars right now in showrooms. I can guarantee NONE of those were manufactured in January 09. |

Mine said the same thing. I took it off. Write down the VIN first if you do. The stamped #s are a bit$# to read. |

Hate to be the one to break it to you man, but you got screwed! You got sold a left over 2007. "Well then how come you can buy a 2009 model bike in September of 2008?" Glad you asked Skippy. Let's say you wanted a 2009 1125cr, but you'd really like to get a few miles on her before the snow flies in January (when they'll obviously be released, they're an '09 model). If you're willing to spend a few extra bucks, every HD/ Buell dealer has a secret time machine hidden in the last stall in the womens restroom. With this extra fee you gain access to this technology that allows the factory to send a 2009 model bike from the future to you today! I can't really explain how the technology works, just watch Back to the Future 1 and 2 and I think you'll get it. Either that or they start production of said model year in the middle of the previous year, sometimes even sooner. I'll let you decide what the truth is. |

Hahaha...wow. Sounds right along the same lines of a friend of mine saying "you mean Chevy and Chevrolet are the same thing?" sorry but that's just common knowledge that all vehicles and quite a few other products on the market are manufactured long before the new year except with some occasional holdouts(eg the mustang convertable a few years ago)... |

i understand the taking a long time to make the bike.. but i got my truck in 2001 and its shows that it is a 2001 model.. so i was just wondering why the bike had a Aug 07 when i got it in July of 08, just figured it would have a 2008 year on it.. and not a 2007 year... it has the 25th ann. badge on it.. Fill me in on this ECMSPY info? |

The 2009 Porsche 911's appeared at dealers just about a month ago. The Cayman build that will be starting in the coming days (last "to order" 2008 was the end of September) is rumored to be tagged a 2010 with the PDK xm and DFI. Model year refers to what is filed with the various agencies that do approvals to designate a "build". |

It's the same with women. My wife would be 46 if you based it on "production date" but she is really only 39. Don't ask me how it's just one of those facts that cannot be understood if your male |

just found out that if you look at the tenth digit on your vin number... what ever that number is.. is the year of your bike.. So mine has a 8.. so it is a 2008 model bike.. cool thanks! |
