95 S2, used, 18k (ish) miles, satisfied and in love. Couple issues, but hey - it's almost 14 years old after all! Mods are thunderstorm top end, Buell race can adapted to fit S2 header, Works rear shock, American Sport Bike sideplates that allow S1/X1/M2 sidestand. Had S2T bags and lowers, and Corbin seat, on it when I bought it (had large bag lids, bought matching narrow lids as well). EBC rotor went on front when rotor button holes wore out in the stock carrier and rotor. 98 S1W, used, bought with 1100 miles now has 5500(ish). Very satisfied - but I realize it's a "toy" bike and not meant to be daily transportation, especially with that solo Euro seat. Mods/repairs include gutted V&H carbon SS2R, rejetted for free-flow exhaust, race air filter, Penske shock, Buell pro-series (zero degree) bars with bar-ends, wrapped header, LED signals and tail/brake light. Repairs include mainshaft bearing (on sidestand too long, what with 1100 miles by 2006 lol, bearing went dry), regular rockerbox leaks. Micropolished the trans gears while it was out. Only annoying/piss me off issue I had was paint bubbling on the tank. A new, later-issue (raised lettering) tank off eBay took care of that... 99 M2 (don't have any more), new, sold at around 22k miles, extremely satisfied. First bike ever, no major problems with it, recalls were a nuisance and that was all. Never had an issue. Buell race kit was the only mod on that one. 06 Ulysses - my swiss-army-knife. Bought March '08, new, now has about 5k miles. Awesome bike, none of the issues that are widely reported have been experienced by me. Dunno if I'm lucky or if I'm not riding it hard enough. Love the 616s (I do mud and gravel and dirt in addition to pavement). Only mods so far are Drummer can and homemade inner airbox (love that 1" woodbore bit!). 3 bag set, usually run topcase only but I painted the silver panels to match the bike with Testors model paint (Ford hugger orange). Commuter bike, very satisfied, never washed |

So what does this all mean? Why can't we get legit surveys through the Badweb software? What kind of mods lead the list? (Engine?? Suspension???) Satisfied leads those dissatisfied by how much? Maybe it's the political season but I'm into survey overload ... and grumpy. (Message edited by slaughter on October 02, 2008) |

On the PowerSportsNetwork there's currently 290 Buell reviews with an average rating of 4.29/5 based on reliability, comfort, quality, and overall owner satisfaction. That's an overall grade of 85.8% or a B+. |

1999 Thunderbolt S3T, 23k. The first time I saw her in the driveway it brought tears to my eyes. The most beautiful motorcycle I've seen and she is fast and powerful. I have no desire to ride anything else. Extremely satisfied! |

06 xb12scg 1900+K Satisfied when it's running right. Which it was prior to my dealer f'd it up. Now running @ 80% good (tnxs to Xopti!) gotta work out cold start/idle issues. Purchased new. - Still love it 03 xb9SLR - haven't checked the ODO since I last rode it, somewhere in the 12k's, ran great til I laid it down in a storm a few months ago, needs a new rear wheel and a fuel pump. Ran great til then. very satisfied. Purchased used from an ex BWBber (don't know, Mike u still around?) with 4K miles on it. 1125R - don't have it yet, but when I do, I'm positive I'll be satisfied. |

06 Ulysses (New) 13,000 = Very Satisfied Bought in August 08 as a leftover for less than $9K. Dropped it in Dec. 07 when a car cut me off in the rain. We never hit, but the guy in the Corvette saw how pissed I was and took off. Easy fix, the foot peg and lower frame had to be replaced as well as the clutch handle. April - Hit and run, $1,200.00 worth of damage and four broken ribs that the insurance companies paid for, and then they found the guy and his insurance company had to pay me more than enough to buy a new 1125cr I have been drooling over, but, my wife had better plans for the money. June - I dropped it going 75+ riding with a race club. Simple case of ego out-riding skills. Slid into a bob-wired fence, but had all my gear on and came out with only a few abarsions and bruses. My wife made me fix the bike myself as a lesson to me. Probably spent $500 bucks. But for a few minor cosmetic blemishes (but none anyone would notice). I ride it everyday, rain or shine - this is one tough bike. |
