From http://wera.com/rulebook/?x=816#ch10
quote:C SUPERSTOCK EXPERT & NOVICE and C SUPERBIKE EXPERT & NOVICE Up to 650cc 4-stroke multis Up to 675cc 4-stroke triples Up to 1200cc 4-stroke air-cooled twins Up to 800cc 4-stroke water-cooled twins Up to 550cc 2-stroke multis HEAVYWEIGHT TWINS SUPERBIKE EXPERT & NOVICE and HEAVYWEIGHT TWINS SUPERSTOCK EXPERT & NOVICE Unlimited displacement air-cooled, four stroke twins, (based on Formula rules in HWTSB) Unlimited displacement water-cooled, four stroke twins, (under 900cc based on Formula rules in HWTSB) Up to 700cc water cooled, four stroke triples
And further down in the rules:
quote:23. On most WERA Sportsman Series weekends Solo events will be held. These events will allow participation by individuals only - no teams. $30 per entry collected will be paid as a purse. A Solo event may not exceed 45 minutes in length including red flag down time. If a Solo is red flagged, the restarted event will continue on the subsequent lap - not a total restart. The restart will take place based on curent running order if possible as determined by the officials, if not then original grids will be used. If less than 25% of laps or 10 minutes remain the race shall be deemed complete.
Basically Solo racing is a longer race, no rider change allowed |

oops - forgot - WERA has a National Endurance Series. Website has a fair amount of details and the WERA website has a pretty developed discussion under the National Endurance Series heading. http://wera.com/bbs/?x=816 |

Slaughter, Thanks for the info. The WERA site is not as friendly as the CCS site. |

Yeah - I found the rules that I had bookmarked... otherwise it is a struggle. CCS is more "user friendly" for sure. Unfortunately CCS West is no longer in operation here (bummed) because there are just too many other Western racing organizations. |

Also the XB bikes are eligible for lightweight twin superbike expert and novice races, but the Buells have to run under superstock rules. Slicks are allowed though. This is the class an XB12 is most competitive with, though there are some built SV650 superbikes that can smoke you. You can have some fun in the heavyweight twins class if enough SV650's step up. The solo is a 20 lap race usually held on Saturday, but only has light/middle/heavyweight classes. Its not clear in the rulebook but I've entered the lightweight solo. Mostly SV650's, 125's and a few FZR400's. The middleweights are 600's, heavyweights being liter bikes. |

I received a response back from WERA... "Your best bet is LW Twins Superbike if your Buell is still in Superstock trim. You could also run it in HW Twins. We do run Solos on Saturday which are the same idea, usually 20 laps and we pay back $30 per entry in a cash purse, your Buell would be in the LW class there." |

Rumblings of letting Buells into more classes in WERA next year. Specifically LWTSS. http://forums.13x.com/showthread.php?t=190589 |

Keep me up to speed with your pursuit in racing WERA, PM me because I'm not on the Badweb everyday. The Drummer Team 'Kevin and Marty' did well in 07' with their XB9, we pitted together often and its was a hoot. I'm waiting to see what pans out for next season, got some things in the works. Wasn't able to do much this year, just happy to get a few races in. |
