Kansas is fine. Flat, but if we are just meeting as a group, there are alwasy curves before you get there Colorado is fine. Easy for me to get there from Arizona. Up from Phoenix and thru the four corners. Both probably more centralized. I just think it would be great to have a huge number of S2's together. Some of the guys in the FSSNOC, Four Stroke Single National Owners Club, have what they call ThumperCafes. Everyone drives hundreds of miles to meet, have lunch and drive back home. Colorado would be beautiful. Good backgrounds for a shot of the bikes. Would be a good time to get our official lists together of who has what numbers, who needs the special model plates, etc. I just think it would be cool. Hope whatever weekend is picked I am free. Thanks REX |

Ok, unless anyone has any objections I will start putting this together. I am thinking the middle of June at Gateway Colorado and will call the hotel to figure out rates, get rooms blocked off, check if that is a good time, and will start looking at some routes and activities. I will need some help and ideas. Bart has already volunteered and I will hold him to that. It is a long way off but if you think you can make it, for the purposes of a rough head count, let me know.... I will put together a "Ulywife" spreadsheet and will try to keep it updated. As always any ideas will be welcome. My email is f_skinner@yahoo.com |

Tentatively speaking middle of June next year looks open for me Any other East Coast S2 riders want to start thinking "caravan"? |

My vote is for Colorado! I'm betting we could get a number of folks from the area. No all S2's or Buell's but all very like minded riders! IAMike, you interested? Brad |

I emailed the resort today giving them two blocks of dates. 12, 13 and 14 June and a second choice of 19, 20 and 21 June. Here is a link to the web site: http://www.gatewaycanyons.com/index.php I am really unsure how many rooms to try and get blocked so I asked for 15. Bart: Can you come up with some ride routes for that area. Also need volunteers to lead the rides. I will sweep and will try and figure a way to get my truck, ramp and tools out there as well. Still need someone to take on the T-shirt design. Bart I need to send you an email soon. Frank |

Hey guys, I need to poll everyone on the dates. I have several emails out. I am awaiting replies so nothing is firm and we can play with them a bit. Some dates are: Colorado Thunder Club Buell ride to Moab (staying in Gateway) sometime in May (usually second week). I emailed the director an am waiting a response to see if this is still going on in 2009. AMA Races at Road America are 5 - 7 June. I am not sure when Homecoming is next year. Will it be in July like last year or June like in years past? I emailed Buell and will see. That being said I want everyone to know that Gateway Colorado is close to Utah and in the desert. Temps in June will be around 100 degrees.... Yeah but its a dry heat.. In May the temps are around 80 on that side of the Rockies but a lot colder on the East side. I rode in about 45 degree weather for 80 miles and 20 degree weather for about 20 miles last year in May going out there. That kind of weather does not bother me too much. I have heated gear, but I wanted to make everyone aware. Despite what time of year it is I can promise you it will change depending on altitude, area, fronts and the alignment of the planets. Once I get all the info in I will make the best decision I can based on your responses and the responses from the Resort, Colorado Thunder Club and Buell... Frank Who is designing the T-Shirt??? |

With the temps in mind, I would rather ride in May myself. Then again, AMA races may be worth the wait... |

Philly, If I manage to get my project together, I'll join you from Indy. As far as the shirt, I'd vote no to anything with "hooligan" on it since I don't consider myself much of one. Then again, I can understand if votes are restricted to those that are committed to going! |

I have always liked this design. Can anyone draw this?
I was thinking something simpler that can be embroidered on a shirt. |

That is the coolest of the cool! . . . it has my vote. I totally dig the way it integrates the "REAL" Buell logo and the S2! |

I too like the Old School Look. Super job. Legal for us to reproduce? A name and date could easily go under the artwork. Ducati when they introduced the Hailwood model, had T shirts printed with each owners number...How cool would that be too.? someway to show our bike number at the event. Name badges with our name and bike number. We need to compile an up to date list of owners and their S2 numbers. Would be cool, if we could find everyones special number plate and give to them. Great photo opportunity. REX |

We need to compile an up to date list of owners and their S2 numbers Rex, I have not published a list in a while but it is under the "S2 Owner List" thread. It is up to the OWNERS to get the information to me. I do like the idea of the numbers on the shirt however I am one person. Bartimus has sent me some great routes and will help in that area if he is able to make it. I feel like this is snowballing a bit and I am a bit overwhelmed (mostly due to my day job) but it is great!.... When I get home tonight I will send some key emails out... Frank |
